What are you trying to hedge against? Are you asking if it's better to trade IWM or the futures? They're practically identical. If you're seing moves in $RUT that do not correspond in IWM/MR04, then you're chasing a rainbow. What timeframe are you using in your "ta systems"?

I would not buy too big a drive. Something in the 40-60 GIG "IDE" is ok. You may want to shop around for cheapest price.

Best would be to leave xp alone in that HD. Buy a 2nd HD (they're cheap) and install/run win2K on new drive. If/when things change later on, just set things back on the original drive.

I agree, but would add that the main culprit is actually the bid/ask spreads. More money is lost in the spread than commissions.

Unfortunately, even though I'm very happy with IB/TWS overall, I agree that there IS some type of problem with orders getting filled even after getting the "green light". I've waited as much as 2 minutes for some orders to be filled. This is something that happens less than 5% of the time...

Does the strategy work on the short side as well? Or is it a long only play? Does it work even when overall market opens lower?
