Different in day trading SPY & ES?

IMO the SPY and ES move the same so I guess it's cheaper to trade SPY for the tighter spread. What's the point in spending more dosh to trade an instrument when trading its derivative carries less costs... There's virtually no spread on SPY and it is practically the same market of ES (SP)

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Yep, true enough. I like all kinds of orders too, but MO simply are just not of my liking. Maybe, as you say, with stock is better to avoid MO while they can work well with commodities and other markets. And obviously when you need to get in or out fast.

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Why would you want to use market orders? I rarely had a good fill hitting bid/ask... Wouldn't be safer to use limit orders 2-4 cents out of the money on stocks at times where you know it's difficult to get a decent fill? Wonder if you use market orders in particular situations.

motely fool says 95% onfday traders out in 6 months

That wouldn't make sense for me: I feel so bad when I lose I have to take a breathing, I can't keep trading and losing that would kill my confidence and my self esteem. If I take a significant loss I pause, suffer, recover, analyze and try to learn; and then move on but with a different mind-set...
