    IB trustuworthy?

Depends on what you're trading I gues... I am with them since 2003/2004 and still think there is no serious competition. Have tried some on the side and still use some, but my main trading goes trough them (not hf- like but still some little 100 lot's à day) and good liquidity and spreads...

    IB trustuworthy?

Just to say, I never had any withdrawel problems with IB here (Netherlands). I think it takes three to four workdays at the max (even had it the next day once) for the funds to be in my bank account.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Why are banks so silent, why don't we hear them. Don't tell me they are affraid to speak out in public and run a silent lobby. When they don't really oppose, it means they will be better of with the FTT. Think of it, FTT is not paid by them in the first place ( they are the middleman)...

Parliament adopts ambitious approach on financial transaction tax

Add a little to the exchange fees and nobody will walk ( except hft), the combined fees at brokers already exists of broker/exchange and tax fees. In what I've read so far my fees would be x10+ and that's like going back to the 80's.... Maybe I should vote for some anti-EU party next elections...

Parliament adopts ambitious approach on financial transaction tax

Correct me if i'm wrong, but for a fdax future that would be €16,-. I am not à market maker or very active scalper but 30 futures a day is something that happens a lot and many times more when trading multiple contracts. That would be 10k per month.... So, ask eurex gently to move to Swiss...

    Anyone trading Nikkei225?

Fair enough. Are you trading the osaka/sgx? I am totally new to the asian market, have mainly traded EU sessions (fx and eurex) thus far and must say that I like the FX Asian session (maybe slow but less choppy). Thanks

    Anyone trading Nikkei225?

Hi, Lately I am trading forex through the night (EU time) and I started looking at the nikkei225. I think trading this future has merits. I am now looking at the volumes at IB and see that the march 12 osaka mini contract has traded 235k so far in two hours. The cme globex nikkei contract...

    where to start from

Hi all, I am trading the fx markets for some years now with a strategy that did not change a lot since the start. I am thinking of (semi) automating the strategy to be able to get some fresh air when the sun shines. My programming skills are 0 but I do have someone that is very good at this...

    Interactivebrokers & Citibank

What the hell did IB ever do to you for being such a pain? All points you have made so far in all your anti IB posts are all narrow minded and not well funded. Mostly reading your posts things like “does he actually (really) trade or is it just IB he’s after?” come to my mind. Get a life!!!

    dukascopy or oanda or.......

Hi there, I have been reading a lot on this board and still am not convinced which fx broker to choose to open a back-up account with (could transform to a prime account). I am currently happily trading fx and futures through Interactive Brokers and futures through Globalfutures. Lots of...

For those people that left IB - where did you go next?

Well said! IB has it's issues, so have others. IB has been my main broker for 5 years and I don't see any reason why that would change. I do recommend to use a second broker, you don't want to have all eggs in the same basket and be able to hedge positions when you have to (never happened to...

    Interactivebrokers & Citibank

Do note that client funds are pooled into segregated accounts (this is true of all US brokers). So even if you say you want money at Bank X, that does not mean that money is earmarked to your account. In other words, if client A blows out, client B's funds are at risk if the firms capital...

What Interactive Brokers requires for Advisor accounts?

IB needs to know if you're suitably regulated, for a professional advisor (charging fees). Not needed if it's only a non-charging f&f account.
