I use InvestorRT for charting max.. so that is not a problem.. its really only whether the feed speed and reliability is similar to esignal that is the question for me.. I use IB for trading so not interested in them for anything other than data delivery..
Neil
I was wondering this also.. I use esignal feed now too but wondering if I might switch to mytrack.. I never use esig charting as IRT charts are better so unless mytrack is slower feed seems no reason not to use mytrack as it is a lot cheaper.. anyone experienced both feeds and noted any...
Do a search on them here, several posts I think. I have used them and do not any more but as previously stated are excellent (for non US traders.. its your free legal system guys.. you are not ALLOWED to trade cfd's.. but hey.. its a free market economy right????) for backtesting strategies and...
I prefer that analogy.. I used to fence a few years back and loved it greatly.. there definitely are similarities.. epee tho not foil.. whole body target and hardly any rules, have at em!
maybe a cross between fencing, chess, darts and dice..
Neil
yes thanks for that link too chris.. will delve into that.. have been looking at the astra broadband internet service and also looked into it before with another providor.. sounds ideal except for a couple of issues so far encountered..
first am not sure that these connections allow access...
Yes but read my earlier posts.. in a few cities only and not even most of galway for example yet.. one of the main cities of ireland and the fastest growing city in europe.. or was...
we are not far from galway and there is an exchange here that allows us to have isdn.. covers a wide area...
Thanks Toby, yes I know talkstoxx site.. well worth looking at as you say. I did spend a bit of time watching woodie and others work the cci on paltalk but wandered off after a while since that was trading faster mostly than I am interested in.. 5 trades a day average max for me.. a quick 2pts...
Thats interesting Walter and also Wally.. we seem to be on the same basic track here. The trick is to get enough signals.. but not too many.. are you holding overnight or only day trading your signals?
For me so far I have found best results to come from a late-ish start.. so the ma's can...
Walter,
Its still work in progress really and I never said 4-5 GOOD signals a day!! lol Actually it has a low percent win ratio so far.. less than 50%.. but average gain over loss is good.. small losses mostly.
Its a ma crossover system ( tempered by the cci indicator) which is always in...
Its a matter of great import actually ThatManFromTx!! :)
its about the need for comfort while trading.. or not in the case of the poor souls who trade from a bed of nails.. who knew there were so many! Also I wanted reassurance that I was not the only one so decadent as to trade in extreme...
Walter,
At the moment I am using cci indicator to confirm my signals.. which are, as NihabaAshi above says, ma crossing ma... I am still working on my exact parameters but this so far is working best... the cci is a little faster than the ma's at present settings but often preps me up for a...
Great answers guys and gals.. so far the swivel chair is ahead of the comfy armchair by a short nose.. but its interesting to see the bed of nails still performing well.. I sure feel like I am trading from one of them some days..
I definitely do get somewhat TOO comfortable in my armchair...
Nothing but the best I agree.. I wish I wish my comfy armchair was best quality leather instead of being a poor old thing covered in stupid dog hair!
I think the bed of nails option is going to win out in the end somehow....
Neil
I guess that means trading from bed then? er.. even in my wildest dreams I have tried not to let that hedonistic thought loose! and I thought armchairs were decadent!
Neil
Yes I agree absolutely rich.. now thats trading! But the comfy armchair would make that even beter I reckon.. but then maybe I am just getting old!
Neil
For myself I am no mug.. I trade from a comfy armchair.. four monitors nicely arranged around me.. feels like piloting a super duper dell spaceship.. never helps the trading of course and have to combat the falling asleep problem but overall works way better than my stool from before.. def...
Hi Nihaba,
Are you.. and others here.. referring to 'price' crossovers of ma's or ma crossover ma? Just seems to me that price crossovers are giving signals way too often while working on different time frames and selection of ma's to use.. as this thread is about... ie simple, exponential or...
I have been working with weighted ma's lately and find that for my purposes they seem a bit steadier than the others... agree that a confirmation signal is important if using crossovers..

I read Clayburg's 'Four Steps to Trading Success' and quite liked the Directional Day Filter concept. I modified it to suit myself and worked with it for a while.. its about observing the first hour and then deciding the highest probability direction of main trend for the day and then only...
