What are these unusual trading volumes of Bitcoin?

Thanks FX_Hedge. Wouldn't an arb trade traditionally be a very small trade, relative to the size of the market? An arb trade is looking for differences of price in different markets so that it can take advantage of them, an arb trade would be an almost instantaneous trade also. I may be wrong, I...

What are these unusual trading volumes of Bitcoin?

Hi All, I have been watching Bitcoin trading volumes for some time and it appears that there is some massive buying and selling of Bitcoin occurring in individual trades. On analysis these massive trades can represent 10% of the daily trading volume and occur over just 2 - 3 minutes. It occurs...

    Crude Oil Prediction 2018

When you say bounce do you mean a bottom? I would've thought that the strength of the US dollar and the price of oil would've been inversely proportional. As the dollar does up, demand drops due to oil being more expensive, relative to a countries currency.

How to categorise risks in the Oil market?

The categories that I am proposing are relevant when it comes to speculating the short term future of the oil market. What is likely to occur? How could the oil market be manipulated by vested interests? Intangible risks are easier to manipulate than tangible ones.

How to categorise risks in the Oil market?

Hi Robert, Thanks for the reply. This thinking is in development so it may be that there is a better way to categorise the 2 types that I am proposing but, to your point of risks to demand, if I were to apply the tangeable and intangeable categories, Intangeable risk to demand Chinese...

How to categorise risks in the Oil market?

hi all, I have been thinking of a way to categorise risks in the oil market and have come up with a theory, I would love to hear any thoughts. There appear to be 2 types of risks to the dynamics of the oil markets; tangeable and intangeable. Tangeable risks relate to problems around...

Where is Oil going now? Short term predictions.

Hi All, These are my thoughts about where oil is headed but would love to hear any rebuild or thoughts of your own. Bearish. (I think) The relative increase in the value of the US dollar against EM currencies is going to be hurting them in 2 ways. 1. Oil is becoming more expensive which is...

    Crude Oil Prediction 2018

Bearish. (I think) The relative increase in the value of the US dollar against EM currencies is going to be hurting them in 2 ways. 1. Oil is becoming more expensive which is bearish for demand. 2. US dollar denominated debt is also going to be more difficult to pay back, in turn drawing more...

Using Google Trend Data as an Indicator?

Here is an interesting article about the correlation between google trend data and the price of Bitcoin. Again, is this a leading indicator? Probably not. However, it will be interesting to see if this pattern continues. https://www.coindesk.com/using-google-trends-detect-bitcoin-price-bubbles/

Using Google Trend Data as an Indicator?

I think in the VIX case it would be a lagging indicator. Would be interesting to see if there is any way to use search data for identifying strong / weak performing quarters among online retailers. I'll have a look.

Hi Doggyfx, thanks for the reply. Using Google Trend Data as an Indicator?

Hi All, I wonder if anyone has any experience using Google Trend data as a trading indicator. I have previously found correlation between search terms "Bull Market" and "Bear Market" and the performance of the S&P500. I have just used the search term "North Korea" to help me identify where the...
