Cash for clunkers will get many people even more indebted

Hmmm. Investments are risky, as many have discovered over the past year or so. While paying cash for a car and avoiding a low interest rate may seem financially a poor decision, that low interest rate is a "guaranteed" rate. Many seemingly bright and financially "savvy" folks borrowed...

Kaka signs for Madrid in a 94 million $ move.

Kids say the darn'dest things :D I just got to see Beckham play for the first time in person last week (Galaxy at Wizards). Perhaps now that Kaka has signed with RealMad, he can follow in Becks' footsteps and come play in the MLS in a couple of years! BTW, the Wizard goal in that game...

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

This never works like this for me, but today (a day that started in a hotel room with two 12 y.o. soccer players and would be spent at an amusement park all day) I couldn't have played it any better. Did a quick hit long in the premarket for a couple of ticks, then decided to sell at the...

    Question on Option Buying

There's not really a standard answer for this, as it will depend on the price at which you can acquire varying amounts of different strike calls. The safest play would be to buy one $5 strike for about $500. If the stock goes to $9, your option would be worth about $400. If the stock goes...

Question about what I should do with my AAPL covered call

Not true. While generally illogical to exercise an American option prior to expiration, the holder is allowed. It has happened to me. Needless to say, I was surprised when it happened. AM.

    YM Session Levels

DTL - where were you today. I should have avoided trading today, as I couldn't decide on a direction and kept getting whipsawed. Weird day. AM.

    YM Session Levels

Covered my short at 11672 to make a 71 tick gain for the day. Monitored it all while at son #3's soccer practice and while walking the dog. I love mobile technology! I've coached for years, but with just a D license, I can't coach my own boys anymore (U12 Div 1 and Frosh in HS). I'm also...

LOL! I'm a soccer dad. Lacrosse is getting bigger around here (CO) though, too. AM.

    YM Session Levels

I enjoy your postings. I trade the YM sporadically when I'm not finding option plays I like, so I've been reading the past few days. I was contemplating going short this morning, and when I saw you did, I jumped on at 11648. I didn't reverse until 11688, so was off to a bad start...

TWS charts not updating in vista

I don't think it's your new "rig". I've been getting the same issue sporadically as of late, and I'm using the same dell computer I've used for over a year. In fact, a day or two ago, a new version of TWS loaded upon startup, and I had blank charts. Thinking I had a Windows inexplicable...

Interactivebrokers > 2 day chart refresh

I'm having to refresh all my charts today for some reason. But, yeah, that's the way my system generally works. Kinda stoneagy, huh?

IB quotes died, NY dead for last 30 min +

Mine froze too. I was primarily watching GS and AAPL. Even SPY froze. The bid/ask were updating, only the last price and associated change columns were stuck. I've always used IB. Are other brokers less "buggy"? AM.
