    Adventures in Automation

Possibly, but looking at the thread title, I'd assume sizing is part of his plan. And, I forgot to add, never leave the computer either, like I did in my recent journal here.

That's a slippery slope which leads to recklessness (at least in my case). Never override the model or computer, as long as it does what's intended.

    Interactive Brokers Futures Margin

I definitely feel confident keeping my cash at IB, but shit, it gets really hard to properly implement a trading model when they choke off your buying power, when you most need it. My models adjust much slower than theirs do. Lol NO DAYTRADING DISCOUNTS

Best low cost platform and/or broker for $5000 account...

Thanks for the info. Can the trade(s) be executed using third party or custom API geared platforms, or does it have to go through theirs?

Best low cost platform and/or broker for $5000 account...

Hi Matt. Are you aware of any FCM's that do post-trade allocation? For example, if I traded same strategy on multiple accounts (personal or client), but place all trades only in one account, which then get evenly allocated to all accounts after all trades are cleared. I've heard this is possible...

    Instant Limit Down 3/22/2020

Definitely not amateur hour. You need to know your halt levels, and don't underestimate the speed of the market, and NEVER trade manually around those levels. If long, stop loss orders should be at least .5% above the halt line, and generate within milliseconds (automated) of entry order fill...

Is it dangerous to be completely out of the market

Ok then. I’ll just scroll through any of your trading related posts until you do, and I recommend others do the same. I have no problem exposing hot air, and there’s definitely an abundance of it here. I think it’s our duty to do so, and I’m sure many here will agree.

Is it dangerous to be completely out of the market

No doubt about that. The reality of this trading environment isn’t what many here say it is. They obviously don’t trade, and that’s why I challenged them. Ive been daytrading actively through it, and I can tell you (and show you) that my March stats aren’t spectacular. I’m just grinding it out.

Is it dangerous to be completely out of the market

If you don’t put the proof where your mouth is, you lack credibility. I have no problem doing so if challenged on anything I’ve stated on ET.

    It's not factual until proven.

Is it dangerous to be completely out of the market

Like I posted earlier show us the proof you're killing it trading recently, or I don't believe you. There is simply no good place to assess risk when volatility expands 2-3 fold within a day. There is no historical framework to operate within. A professional doesn't just shoot from the hip.

Is it dangerous to be completely out of the market

I'm not buying it either. In hindsight, looking at the daily ranges, these large moves appear easy to capture. In reality, the intraday variance is so high, that you simply can't capture the moves without ridiculously widening your risk per trade. Successful intraday trading in index futures...
