Trying to use a 37" LCD as a single monitor

That's what I thought as regards to a 37" LCD. Of course, one can set up his trading gig in such that a way that he reclines on his couch moving his mouse and typing on his keyboard with his oversized LCD's several feet away. That would give rise to the term "couch potato trader.":)...

Trying to use a 37" LCD as a single monitor

I wondered what it would be like sitting about 2 feet away (in my case anyway, as most do not sit 6 feet away from their monitors) from a 37" LCD? Wouldn't it be like sitting in front of a 37" TV all day if your trading style requires you too? Too much glare? Too much eye strain? Like to...

    IB Tax Documents

I do the same with spreadsheet, with a section of it resembling the format of Sch D. At the end of the year, just put in the year, broker info and long and short term (two sections), print out as attachments and I am done too. Good record keeping goes a long way here.

    IB Tax Documents

Anyways, if you think IB's Sche D is not accurate, then don't use it that's all. Use what you used last year, ie. your own sche D.

    IB Tax Documents

As joeyata1 said, the important thing is that the proceeds of sales match on 1099 form from IB. And as long as P/L is correct, you can ignore IB's Sch-D if you don't like it. I found that IB's Sch-D adjust cost basis for stocks, i.e. to include options prem (stock being put or called away)...

    Daylight saving time problem

Guilty as charged. I am in "don't-fix-if-ain't-broke" camp and try to keep it to the minimum on this pc which is dedicated to trading apps. I brought it up to sp2 last weekend, as I said, for new DST. Hope now it's up to day and will keep it as it is for a long time as long as it works...

    Daylight saving time problem

I called an IT friend who told me the Windows xp update number to install to adjust for new DST. The Windows update number is KB931836 If you still have DST issue (not adjusting for new schedule after following update procedures on msft's site), do a search for the above on microsoft.com...

    Daylight saving time problem

I went to msft's site twice to update (maybe overdid it?) and both time it went through without getting any notices or messages. Mine is xp home and had been running on sp1 until last weekend when I upgraded to sp2, which is mandatory for DSt patch. Just frustrating.

    Daylight saving time problem

Mine is legit, and it's on OEM's two CD's, which I used last October to reformat my PC and reinstall OS. I don't remember is I registered it though.

    Daylight saving time problem

That's where I got the update last week. Well, one pc didn't automatically adjust last night. So I rebooted, no change. Downloaded updates again, no change. Uncheck automatically switch to DST, then reboot, no change. Now manually changed clock time, so I don't even know what what happen...

    Daylight saving time problem

I got the same problem, after updating new DST patches from MSFT several times. Guess I ccould manually change time on PC, but the thing is, no matter what I do, Tradestation chart now shows central time trading session (i.e., open at 8:30 and close at 3:00). Do I have to change trade...

    incredibly bad execution

Sorry if you feel offended. What I meant is, with that kind of wild fluctuation (as evidenced by -$17k), the speed of execution your broker provides is critical. Well, take the horrible experience with the broker as a lesson, that's all.

    incredibly bad execution

No offense. If you could be out of 17K because of an order review at Schwab, then you should not really trade options at all. Hope the arbitration will recover some of your losses, which is doubtful.

If you are concerned about the downside now, why not just take some thing off to reduce the margin and keep it simple.

    Equity Options Broker Comparison

I cannot agree more here. Try selling a credit spread in an IB IRA account and see its effect on the buying power of your account and do the same in TOS IRA account--you will see the difference. TOS is a full-service (almost) broker at rock-bottom commission rate. You can call its trade...

Bob, you are saying that the batter will make very loud beeps 7-10 hours before it dies. So in your case, your battery is near the end of its life so it starts making loud beeps--sort of like the smoke alarm device that will beep when battery needs changing? I once talked to a tech who was...
