no reason to start w/ 200k. go prop and put up 5-10k and use their leverage and trade small. if you already have 200k in the bank, you probably have or have had a good job where you made good money, or you just came into the 200k somehow. it might be hard to trade for small wins and even smaller...

i think the point here, as stated by others already, is that there is a huge difference between investing and trading. if you don't understand that difference, then you probably should not be posting on a "trading" website.

best way is to watch leading stocks. when they take a hit, and can't get back to new highs while market and other laggard stocks keep moving up, a correction is probably around the corner. this won't provide you an exact date, but usually is a good tell. livermore would see that and start...

bottom line, just go w/ one of the prop firms. a ton discussed here on the prop firms forum. most will let u start out w/ 5k deposit and give u 20:1 leverage w/ 100% payout.

i think we all get the idea w/ the forums about buy the dips already. please do us a favor and make these posts under the other multiple threads of the same topic.

tough day, shot myself in foot early, but managed to get some back. nyx is breaking my heart as i post - sat in her short from 11:00 am, i covered a few minutes before she broke down hard. she just sat there and did nothing on the first market breakdown. lol! gotta love trading!

definitely big volume on spy today, but the end result on the daily chart is a gravestone doji. not exactly a great sign for the bulls. have to wait and see what happens tomorrow to get any confirmation on today's bar.
