    Trading Journal - June

"It's like running up the down-escalator but failing to make it to the top. You almost get there, you're tired, you stop and the escalator simply takes you down again." --Seanote Good analogy:D

    Auto-refreshing in Internet Explorer??

Thanks to all, I went with Browsefresh from PCmag. It seems to work well. I couldn't get the allstocks auto-refresh to work right but browsefresh is working nicely. Here's the link to Browsefresh for anyone else: http://www.pcmag.com/article/0,,s%3D1478%26a%3D4730,00.asp Once again...

eSignal wish list : the dedicated thread

cartm, You can already darken the grid lines. Just right-click on the chart and click on colors, then select "grid." Then select "change color." I hope this helps. Tony

    Auto-refreshing in Internet Explorer??

Is it possible to have internet explorer automatically refresh a webpage constantly? Currently I just keep pressing refresh when I want to see new messages here. A way to "auto-refresh" would be very useful. Thanks, Tony :)

    Trading floor videos

Here's a film that was shown on PBS awhile back. I didn't get to see it because it wasn't showing in my area. I don't think you can get a video of it but here's the website about the film. http://www.pbs.org/itvs/openoutcry/story.html Tony

    TradeStation SEC Fees ????

As far as I know, ALL brokers charge this fee. The fee is only assessed on sells/shorts. The fee is equal to 1/300 of 1 percent of the cost of the sale. Ex. You sell 100 shares @ 50. The fee is equal to .000033 x $5000 or $0.17 BTW, I think these fees have actually dropped recently and/or...

    ISLD book

This is true though many direct access brokers have integrated ECN books into L2 which allow 3 decimals. If you're looking at ISLD book, then it is probably a hidden order. It could also be a buy and sell entered at the same time within the spread but that would be pretty rare. Tony

    SuperMontage vs. ISLD Hidden Orders

IMO hidden orders are mostly used to hide true size. Ex. For a sell order, show 100 @ 43.90, but have 900 more @ 43.90 or less hidden. Hidden orders are also used in very liquid stocks as a way to cut in front of another order without their knowing it. This would be done to prevent others...

Yes, you can view realtime quotes and charts of indices. The symbols are a little different than other feeds though. For example . . . $SOX.X,$BKX.X,etc.

    more CNBC drama

I agree CNBC is a joke as far as their market commentaries and analysts. Their news is usually delayed in comparison to most traders, except on fed decisions. The only commentary that usually has value is when they talk to floor traders, particularly Art Cashin. However CNBC is IMO still a...

    Who we are?

I guess I had intended the poll for equities traders since that is my thing but would like to get into futures trading in the next few months. I apologize for any other categories I may have left out such as floor traders. But also understand I'm limited to only 10 options in a poll, which...

    Who we are?

I figured I'd leave something out, although, I can have only 10 options for a poll. I suppose these choices could fall into the Office-based Pro or Marketmaker categories.:( Tony

    Who we are?

I'm starting this thread to get a feel for the typical member of this website. Please read all the above choices and pick the one the best fits your current situation. I myself fall into the active retail trader category. This is somewhat broad ranging from 20 to a few hundred trades a...
