    Thomas Peterffy - INTERACTIVE BROKERS

IB is an excellent broker, but absolutely, tws needs to be scrapped. I don't see why IB doesn't buy out ninjatrader or multicharts and put some money in for modifications.

    Please recommend analysis software

If you're options, thinkorswim is a very good platform and broker. In the past, I looked at trademonster. The name is horrible and the guy who runs it is a cnbc talking head, but the platform doesn't look half bad for options. Anyone on here use trademonster for options?

Paid help for newbie forex investor

Good morning: (1) Trading in general is risky. (2) Getting 10-15% returns is definitely possible; however, it takes work to get there. The majority of funds can't beat the benchmark, and on et there's lots of people who don't know how to trade. You really have to put in the hours to learn...

I would like to discuss averaging down

I don't need to learn how to average down: I'm all good. But it does seem you need to learn some basic trading tactics considering you delineated your significant losses in a post on this thread that you recently just deleted. Keep working with that rabbit.

I would like to discuss averaging down

When I see people advocating averaging down, it's pretty obvious that they don't have a good, winning strategy. Instead of trying to constantly pull a rabbit out of a hat, spend time developing a better trading system.

When will the QE4 rumors start?

Ben's monetary policy will not make much of a difference with the bad economic policy coming out of DC. But it well help the well off, so maybe that's all Ben cares about until hyperinflation gets going. BTW, I lulzed at this thread.

    Mav's Combine Proposition

PSA: for all the guys in this thread who need hand holding, you'll going to have a very rough go of it as a trader. Kudos to Mav in creating yet another scintillating thread.

migrating from Tradestation to CQG maybe

I haven't used cqg in a while but from what I remember, you can do automated trading just within their system. It's a formula based system of sorts. http://www.cqg.com/Docs/Analytics_UG.pdf

i want to be rich! fast!

If you have developed a system that works on fx, then it will work on stocks and futures as well (maybe with some adaptation). Test out your system on stocks and futures contracts, and see how well you do. You can trade a futures contract or two, and easily make enough money to live nicely...

    Day trading, where to start?

Generally, you should try to absorb as much information as possible, investopedia, forums and especially books. That said, you will never be profitable, find a strategy this way. You have to take what you learn, plus your own creative abilities, and develop your profitable strategy.

i want to be rich! fast!

Don't ruin your life by trading a highly leveraged product. If you haven't read any trading material, one thing you'll learn is that you cannot force the market to give you money as per your lifestyle. You have to work hard and get up there. FX would probably ruin you and it's for the best that...

CQG Integrated Client vs X_Trader Pro

TT has an excellent feed, but so does cqg. I don't do spread trading, but TT has an autospreader. Cqg has a spread trading function as well. If you don't need a dome and don't do spread trading, I would considering cqg to be somewhat better for you. Cqg has great technical analysis features...

Men, Women, Divorce, and Trading in 2012

Seems like the thread got restless over the weekend. OP posted some horror stories, which most of those are from divorces. While the chance of having a divorce is significant, around 30-40 percent for college educated folks, you also have to be aware of the number of people in marriages that are...

Men, Women, Divorce, and Trading in 2012

I agree with your post to some extent: old fashioned values are a good thing. You just have to understand that society's morals have changed a lot as well as most people nowadays are driven purely by self-interest.

    Interactive Brokers Charting Poll

This. It's not worth the time to fix tws; the platform is just too bad. TD Ameritrade was smart when they bought out TOS; they got a solid tech platform and more clientele. Tradestation might've been a good buy for IB. Maybe buy out ninjatrader or multicharts or yes develop a whole new platform.

Men, Women, Divorce, and Trading in 2012

OP should really heed this comment. If you're looking for fun, freedom and sex, marriage is not going to be the best fit for you, especially when kids come along. You can be a single guy for a long time nowadays and no one cares. However, if you know your gal completely loves you and has...
