Thanks for the info, it clarifies why they would want to front-run market orders. Can you explain how they can make money out of front-running limit orders ? I can't see it right now, but maybe there is a way.

Ok, but I still don't understand it: if they hold my order and place their order ahead of mine, that is front-running. The fair thing would be to place my order and theirs in the same order in which they arrive at their router: if my order arrives first, than it should go to the exchange...

That's weird. When you put the buy limit order at 100.05, you should "eat" everything from 100.00 to 100.05. That's 190 contracts if I'm not mistaken so there should be 10 left as a bid at 100.05. Did you put an immediate or cancel order (or "fill or kill") ? I think that in that case...

So, what did you decide ? Are you going to start working on this project ? If so, I think it's better to release it early even if incomplete so that you recruit help as early as possible.
