    API for Linux

They send the orders to one of these brokers: TD Ameritrade FXCM Gain Capital Forex so routing is available through them. They say other brokers will be available soon.

    API for Linux

Actually, they might offer a routing API since they also offer a trading platform. It's definitely worth looking at.

    API for Linux

Thanks for the link, it seems interesting. It's also cheaper than the competition at $49.95/month for 500 symbols (way more than I need). The only problem with it it's that it looks to be a data feed only. I would also need a routing API that works on Linux, i.e. an API which allows...

HFT robots seeing orders before the exchange ?

I think it's important to distinguish between two things: -"Fair" HFT competitors which have a big speed/latency advantage on the regular traders but don't have any "unfair" advantage. -"Unfair" HFT competitors or "dishonest" brokers which have "unfair" advantages. Example of...

    API for Linux

Thanks for the info. I looked at MB Trading's FIX and they require a certification process ? That's quite weird to say the least: it's not like my code is added to theirs.

    API for Linux

I know of the IB API and I use it too. I just need another one for redundancy.

    API for Linux

I obviously need to receive market data and to send orders. The APIs mentioned above can do both but I can also use a combination of 2 separate APIs to do that. FIX is good but not many brokers accept it. If they accept it they charge much more than for one of the APIs previously mentioned.

ActiveTick vs. IQFeed vs. IB (TOFTT)

Thanks for the reply. What platform do you use for placing orders/routing ?

    API for Linux

What are the APIs that can be used on Linux ? Ideally it should be a C/C++ one but Java or .Net are ok as long as they can be used on Linux. I found so far the following established APIs: 1. Rithmic Pros: seems fast, seems to have a C++ version. Reasonable price. Cons...

HFT robots seeing orders before the exchange ?

Actually this is very much on topic for this thread. I think the stats you provide can be very useful to other traders. By the way, by "Finra trades" do you mean trades that are not executed on an exchange but internalized ?

HFT robots seeing orders before the exchange ?

There were a number of useful infos in this thread, among which two stand out (IMHO): 1. A small trader can be screwed by the sub-penny orders. 2. A small trader can avoid being screwed by a broker selling the order flow by using directed orders (and not "Smart" orders in IB's...

HFT robots seeing orders before the exchange ?

The full ZeroHedge article Via Dennis Dick of PreMarketInfo.com I was trying to buy 500 shares of a preferred stock this morning, Principal Financial Group Inc. series B (NYSE:PFG-B). It is such a challenge to trade any type of illiquid issue as the execution of orders is nearly...

ActiveTick vs. IQFeed vs. IB (TOFTT)

SeattleAlgo, does ActiveTick provide historical/real time data for CME ? If so, what kind of data do they provide for CME ? Just the best bid/ask or is it the full book ?

HFT robots seeing orders before the exchange ?

Here's an interesting, documented example of bad execution where the HFT robots are suspect: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2012-12-11/guest-post-five-minute-example-hft-shenanigans If what the guy says is true than I cannot see other explanation than that the robot "saw" his order before...

Someone steals my fill for one hundredth of a cent (as per TRF)

Is it possible to put an order on a future (say on CME) such that it is better than the best bid (or ask) by a fraction of a tick ?
