    Lifestyle of daytrader

Maybe I haven't reach that phase in my life and in my career but I am finding quite hard to have some spare time. If I have to describe my life is more like: "never give up". I do not believe in the "perfect trade" or some stories like that, like I guess the majority of us. Do you have any...

bonds and buy and hold strategy: future vs spot price

I am reporting here a discussion that has been initiated in another thread because I do not want to mess the other topic with this "lateral issue " Can you give me your opinion in using a buy and hold strategy with the futures: it possible to implement a strategy similar to the buy and hold...

invest in high dividend ETFs or buy to rent?

thx for supporting the "both" strategy, if you want to write a book I am in :) 4-1 leverage I would not recommend it, the risk is that if "something goes wrong" you may end up paying the rent to the bank. Also I do agree that renting is more time consuming then staying long on 3-4 ETFs...

invest in high dividend ETFs or buy to rent?

well i do not know much of the US market but I hope that you can get 4-5% out of a rented house. Otherwise is non-sense investing ... or maybe you should consider moving in the European market :)

Negative interest Rate: Europe looking at Denmark

This is an article that talk about that: http://vancouverdesi.com/business/ecb-focus-ecb-mulls-danish-style-deposit-charge-as-lending-prod/ What do you think about? Personally.. it will be a way to animate a bit the forex trading and maybe test the swiss cap of 1.20.

invest in high dividend ETFs or buy to rent?

If i correctly understood, the question is more: "i am planning my retirement what I should do with my spare cash? Buy a house or some ETFs?" My personal advice is: both 60% equity in a house that you will rent (40% loan from a bank) and 40% ETFs. (maybe "bond based" instead of "stock based")

What broker will let me trade European bonds?

Sure if you are dealing with the future or the option i do not see the point of the physical delivery unless you want to go for the buy and hold. i would like to know more about this... i initiate a new discussion at the following link...

Futures vs Spot price for buy and hold strategy of Bonds

I am reporting here a discussion that has been initiated in another thread. I do not want to mess the other discussion with this "lateral issue " Is it possible to replicate the buy and hold strategy with the Futures? One of our fellow suggested the following: "The only way I can...

VXX a good buy at current levels?

This is a nice starting point, thx. I do not want to do a philosophical discussion but if you advertise ETFs as a transparent asset you should really be transparent till the end. If you do not make explicit the way the index is computed (note that i am saying the index and not the ETF that is...

VXX a good buy at current levels?

+1 what I would like to have is something like: y=f(x) In order to understand how the index is computed once and for all. If the index contains different assets that can be replaced i would also like to know the algorithm that is use for doing that. These are stuff done from machines...

What broker will let me trade European bonds?

I am in the club that cannot short the bonds and must play with the "futures". Btw, to the best of my knowledge IB does not provide physical delivery of EU Bonds, isn't it? It just provides physical delivery of assets that can stay in the account. As for considering the future as the...

VXX a good buy at current levels?

maybe i am a bit naif but.... we are talking about automatic indexes so.. can someone post the algorithms? does anyone know where we can find them? This information will probably clarify any discussion! Obviously, it will clarify this discussion but not predict the market :)

interactivebrokers for a Swiss no-profit organization

IB is in US if I understood correctly. Non profit organization in Switzerland do not have to pay taxes for income as long as they reinvest what they earn in the organization. This page is probably generating some misunderstanding: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/p.php?f=tax...
