Apparently you aren't willing. I made the mistaken assumption that you sincerely wanted the truth. You have already made up your mind. What do you want me to do? Spoon feed you? Spyder posted his trades BEFORE he took them. He posted blotters from his trade platform. The chat logs are time...

    re-open account with IB?

Trust me, this IS the MOST constructive answer you can get. I submit that when you change your attitude and behavior towards digging into the details BEFORE the questions arise, things will go much, much better for you.

You can, but I'm not gonna do the work for you. That's where almost everyone stops, is where the work begins. Find Spydertrader's original journal. He started posting his trades there, along with everything anyone needs to duplicate his results. You can also research the daily chat threads for...

How about getting your facts straight. The charts are drawn in real time. I do it myself every day. It does take A LOT of work and effort to break through old ways of doing things. It's akin to the old saw about the corporate exec saying "well, that's the way we've always done it". It's not...

You gotta learn to read the fine print. THey tell you and are most specific. Perhaps IB is not for you.

Last night, after a many year long journey, I pretty much called it quits. I had had enough, I felt I just couldn't get it. Pretty damn certain I couldn't. Well, thanks to my guardian angel I was directed to do something. What, at this point, I don't think is terribly important. What I...

Somewhere early in this thread, I posted something very similar. Problem is, I keep forgetting it :) It might be a REALLY good idea to print that out and tape a copy, one each, on your monitor and your forehead (staples work better on forehead than tape).

Let me take a stab at it based on these I've read Mak say previously. The minority comment is simply the fact that the smaller side of the DOM is in control. The 4 sides is really cool IMHO and how I've thought one should see the market for a long time now. Almost the entire world looks at a...

I just learned something. I made up my own exercise based on Spyders last post. I took today's chart, totally hindsight, and labeled (or tried to) each bar as continuation or change. Couldn't do it. Among the noted challenges were trying to sort out various resolution levels. But, more...

I'm taking the bait because I'd really like to get this. I see the difference totally. Doing it is altogether a different story. WIthout regard to all the examples I might lay out, for me, the experience is that anticapating is guessing. That's where my probability mindset enters. I know...

In furtherence of Avi 8's post, I have some thoughts on a particular genus of pt3 setup. The situations where pt1-2 and 2-3 are nice, directional traverses (tapes) seem pretty straightforward. The ones where the 2-3 is a lateral is only a bit tougher to sort out. But, another version that...

Using none of the fine tools I'd say your right. But, after some late night epiphanies regarding the OTR chart in conjunction with the DOM, the only thing that could create larger losses is being slow with taking action. This assumes good enough liqidity that the market doesn't gap intraday.

Spyder, All makes sense. Gaussians on OTR stick out like sore thumb, not so on tick chart. The thing that is (was) throwing me for a loop is that I was looking for formations on the OTR which mimicked or were similar to the hand drawn image, which you may or may not get, depending on...

Then some of us are using range charts, and some tick charts. Like R/R, I don't see how you could possible detect or observe 2pairs at all. They simply can not show up on a range chart. On the other hand, volume gaussians don't look like anything on a tick chart. Perhaps if you can post a...

I believe you're quite right. I think it has to do with misinterpretting what or how it was said. R/R was in Tucson with myself, and I think he may have done what I did (others too). I just changed to a tick chart instead of range chart, and now it looks like the drawn image.

Spdyer, please look at the image of the hand drawn thingy from Jack. Note how that chart shows price bouncing back and forth between two price levels (eg. 1250.25 and 1250.50), a single tick apart. It is impossible for a range chart to show this, because on a range chart, a new bar will not...

I was about to post something on this very thing. R/R, the answer is twofold: a) you can't b) some of us are looking at the wrong chart. Please follow me on this. When I left Tucson, it was my understanding that what we are supposed to be viewing is a "range chart" with the setting at 1 tick...

I think you have misunderstood. Nothing changes. You still do gaussians. Volume is just as important as ever. The only the difference is you're not trying to decipher any meaning from variations of the extreme volume bars which are adjacent to one another. For example: volume increasing bar...

Haroki, What I heard Jack say, in person, is that once volume is extreme and several bars back to back are extreme, you look at all extreme bars as roughly the same volume.

Hi Losttrader, With just a quick glance, it appears that what you are drawing is correct. My strong suggestion, (from personal experience) is to annotate everything you possibly can, at least for a while. I mean, like points 1, 2, 3, FTT's, BO's, FBO's and perhaps another resolution level...
