Now Trading all day, what to do during lunch?

To answer OP, I've been sitting and staring during lunch for 5 years now, and it gets very tiring. My style can't have it another way, but if yours can, by all means, take a lunch break.

    Bright Trading's new payout model

I was comparing a 100% payout / 2.00 or 3.00 per 1000 model to a 80% payout / 0.20 per 1000 model. Not Bright in particular. The trader has a choice between the two models (and perhaps additional models) by virtue of the choice of trading firm that he makes. That makes it even worse for the...

    Bright Trading's new payout model

Wouldn't most high volume guys (2M shares and up monthly) be much better off with an 80/20 split and 0.20/1000 commish anyway ? Comparing 0.003/100% and 0.0002/80% 2M monthly volume : anything under 28k monthly profits and you're better off with 0.0002/80%. 4M monthly volume (let's...

Recommendation on which prop? Overnight leverage a must.

Neutral here. But : Just wanted to specify that it has nothing to do with grandfathered rates. 90% of Canadian props can do 0.20/1000 shares. And that includes firms younger than Swift. I'm not saying it's offered to every trader, it's not. But it's definitely not restricted to Swift, and...

How much capital do you typically need as a trader to live on your own?

#1 Extreme LOL at people thinking 50k is poverty. You don't know poverty. #2 If you know how to trade, you need 3k-10k at a prop and voila. IF you do not like/want/have weird prejudices against props, then I'm certain there are other valid ways, but they will require more capital.

calling all JC Trading Group, Coastal Trade Securities,T3 Capital & Dimension Traders

Both deals seem alright. At this point, it really depends on your trading style, which will determine which payout/commish combo is better. And feeling comfortable is indeed important, so that has to weigh in. Haven't read any negatives on either firms around here.

calling all JC Trading Group, Coastal Trade Securities,T3 Capital & Dimension Traders

Very humble opinion, you're worrying too much about the speculations of regulations. I don't think JC's closing any time soon, or most other respected firms for that matter. Remember, prop firms are doomed since 2006, ECN credits are dead since 2004 and my computer stopped working on Jan...
