some say volatility will severely go down with new hybrid, how is this explained? with it being more electronic with no specialist to neutralizee, the volatility should skyrocket. prints that rip thru the book and come right back down etc...

a stock was at 40.10 by 40.13 I had order to sell 200 shares at 40.26. I get filled and i noticed the bid offer really didn't change. what was the reason for this? did someone just sweep thru the openbook and the offer wasn't reflected?

Thanks for the reply. Now even though we have NX, what if i use the normal nsye dot hotkeys, wil it be instant like NX? So is NX even needed? Just seems like everyone is saying on hybrid fills are instant like NX so NX is no longer needed i wonder?

amex charges alot i beleive 3 cents a share. i believe you must use ISLAND without route out on to keep it cheap. ARCA is expensive almost 3 cents a share.... soes is cheap also... pleae correct if i am wrong..

highly doubt its direct access, and therefore extremely slow fills. but if you are position trading and holding things long term, you porbably won't mind it~ haha maybe delayed quotes~

The futures traded nicely today with the fed decision. I was scalping it ever since then, was very nice market.

Take a look at WLT. Daily chart showed it hitting 55. Once it hit 55 notice it rallied up on low volume. I drew a line from the first support at 60, next at 55, then 50. I shorted at 55, just covered at 50. Great example for long term.

so many breakouts juke me out. i have a filter that makes sure volume is abnormal, so it confirms that hte breakout is real.

the past year i found how the specialist spreading to have the most change. specialists used to spread up / down frequently to sweep up open book limit orders. but the past year with ecn gaining market share specialist spreading has been very irregular. this has affected my trading the most imo.
