Investing $15K to earn 3% per week

Mr. Market went back to test the daily 55EMA again but failed to close below it. Next week could be interesting. 1st Setup: Neutral open with the price starting right around the Daily Pivot, however, price is below the 34 and 89 EMA. Slightly bearish bias after the open. Price got rejected...

Investing $15K to earn 3% per week

Yeah, your are 100% correct. I don't have a good answer other than I was a bungler that day and got what I deserved. The bars are Heikin Ashi paint bars I wrote in TS. I added a filter to help identify bars that are retracing (green) or trendless (grey). Tx for the feed back!

Investing $15K to earn 3% per week

Yesterday's close was right around the 34EMA on the daily so I was a little unsure what the market wanted to do. Bounce up? Or cut through it and head down to test the 55 EMA? Either way, I wrote down on a piece of paper, "we are in a bull market!". 1st Setup: Market opened below Daily...

Investing $15K to earn 3% per week

Annihilated today. A common perfect stop trade. Setup: Market gapped up just above R1 so the plan was to buy a breakout to the upside or a bounce off the Daily Pivot. Entry: 13739 (1 tick below the PP) Stop: 13729 (default when 89EMA is sideways). Exit: Stop hit at 13729 for -10 (2...

Investing $15K to earn 3% per week

I traded the bounce off of S1 and got follow through to the daily pivot. A very rare perfect pivot trade. Setup: Market opened below Daily Pivot--Buy first bounce off of S1 Entry: 13697 (just above S1) Stop: 13687 (just below recent swing low) 1st Exit: 13707 (10 pts) Stop moved just...

Investing $15K to earn 3% per week

Ugh...Rough start to this project. I traded a retracement to the daily pivot after price moved through it like a "hot knife through butter". I didn't get the expected follow through to the downside thus I was 100% sure my stop on the 2nd contract would get hit. Getting out of my second...

    tax advice

Dude, don't evade paying taxes. It will end up costing more in the end (ie legal fees) and possible jail time. Pay a visit to a tax attorney. They can give you examples of how to reduce (v.s. avoid) how much taxes you pay. Couple of ideas that helped my wife and I: * Start a business...

What are the best Mac-based trading systems

Very nice! I have to admit OS X does rock. I spent my whole career on WinTel machines and when OS X came out I bought a Mac. Other than trading, we do everything on the Mac. Perhpas I'll revisit the idea over the summer of setting up my Mac to support a little trading.

What are the best Mac-based trading systems

I love my Mac and use it for everything except trading. IB java based software runs natively on a mac, but, everything else is built for PC. It sucks, but, your better off Just buying a Windows machine for trading.

    Puretick or Trade the markets??

I've tried both rooms and I think PureTick is much better. I have become a much more disciplined trader since joining PureTick and my equity curve has improved a lot. Plus, the head trader is there EVERY day mentoring/teaching. Carter's book is good and their setups are decent, but, the TTM...
