Unless you want to really deal with the headaches of managing others you can expect just to be a 50-60k a year drone at best. Corporate America is dead.

    What would you do?

Hi everyone, First of all, thanks for the replies. The hijacking was funny to! I have decided to put trading on the back burner for now and pursue internet marketing instead. While I have a love for the markets, I am finding that a fool and their money are soon parted. In other...

Good Markets to Trade Off US Hours

Looking for suggestions on markets to trade outside of US hours. This would be for guys like me that still have a 9-5. Should I consider non-US markets? Maybe look into the HSI? I have considered futures on Globex but not sure about the liquidity in the evening. Gets a little thin at...

    Tell me why this is

I think it is often hard to believe that if something works "why doesn't everyone do this". The fact is, there are a lot of reasons. What works for you doesn't necessarily work for them. Maybe the person doesn't have any interest in trading. Maybe they are closed minded. Maybe they have a...

    What would you do?

My thoughts exactly. The idea is to become self employed. I might need a cheaper market than Chicago to buy and fix foreclosures...

Would you do it all over again?

There will always have to be those that are able to make it. I certainly agree with your last part that if it is exciting you are likely not approaching it like a business.

    What would you do?

I am the same way, always thinking about the next step. I would love to go travel if I knew I was on the right path and can justify some shorter trips in the meantime. I don't want to do the equivalent of grad school for typical people our age and just delay things. What do you do for a...

    What would you do?

Yes, strongly considering this actually for my next vacation before Obama opens it up. Easy to do from a flight from Canada or Mexico.

    What would you do?

Cutten's advice is probably the most sensible response so far, but your reaction is about the same as mine. I am semi-retired now, and I never found a secure, well-paid job I could stomach. Probably my biggest regret has been the time and effort I wasted looking. It makes sense to try...

    What would you do?

To piggyback on this does anyone here blog or have side internet businesses to help normalize your income when your equity curve takes a hit? Seems like this would be a good way to help make trading more realistic.

    What would you do?

I see this as a pathetic, mediocre way to live life. I know I am better than this.

    What would you do?

I have a friend in Chile right now and is traveling the world doing just this. I envy him, but feel I should have a way to make an income at the same time rather than just pissing away the 100K on world travels. If I could work on something anywhere this would be an option. Hence my dabbling...

    What would you do?

Not planning to "gamble" it. Are you using the word "gamble" in place of "trading"? Seems that saving another 2K and opening a margin account would be gambling albiet not any risk of substantial loss. Assuming you mean futures here? I'd love to open a business, but have no ideas.

I figured that part out. A wife would find a way to spend that cash with a ring, wedding and house. :D
