Goldman has come under fire for currency swap deals in which the Greek government engaged in December 2000 and July 2001. They cut the country's debt – as measured by official statistics – by €2.4bn, which Goldman will recoup over time. The bank has said it regrets that the swaps were not...

When the FED increased the discount rate Euro dropped then bounced to form a hammer that day, yesterday again quite a lot of economical news and yet Euro dropped to same 1.3440-50 zone, put in a series of higher lows/highs and we finished day again with a hammer. LC pointed out that discount...

Trading EUR/USD Daily Hi & Lo

Possible DB on Daily chart, indicators are pointing to a bounce. Break of 1.3440 ought to send EUR/USD down breaking current congested zone.

oh yes, in that case you are correct at giving me a digispank, I could have been long at the time based on daily range and wanted some love & support from a younger brother :) As far as Mr dollar chopper is concerned, I think I am ready for him. Thanks for being so observant

I doubt you are a dumb redneck. In the current series of trades there were both long and short trades. Sometimes trading breakouts I will have the unfortunate pleasure of buying tops and selling bottoms, shit happens.

Trading EUR/USD Daily Hi & Lo

I think you have misunderstood the method, holding period does not need to be intraday, I am not using hourly charts, based on hi lo of daily bars. Resolution is near for current series of trades. I am more interested in range expansion either way.

    Buffett's Partner: 'It's Over' for U.S. Economy

USA will not end as Soviet Union, they are in Iraq & Afghan already. They won't leave, Iran is quite possibly next. Their air defense system (the web) is not to protect, but to attack. The more USA slips into economic slump, the more evident it will be. There will be more "threats" to fight off...

Damnit ! Not making that mistake again

All expectations of patterns are based on random order. You have to look at it from a point of view - what if it takes 10 attempts to nail a turn? You need this mental edge if you don't have a methodical edge. So the key is to expect consecutive losses whilst applying some sort of math strategy...

there are many ways to analyse it. I look at combo of p/a + histo: price action preceding range expansion shows signs like flags, pennants, wedges, DTs & DBs. Rising/declining histo points to either strengthening or weakening p/a.

Maybe instead of just looking for breakouts like suggested by OP, we should all seek out conditions when range expansion is about to take place, post our charts, put on trades with targets, I think it will work as a charm. Then wait for another Daily set-up. Who is in? I am in :)

Have you considered daytrading ONLY when Daily chart shows a valid entry according to your method used to pick intraday entries? You see I believe that daytraders trading futures give too much back when volatility subsides & ranges contract. But we do need volatility to make consistent...

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

I don't believe that to be so. It's not a matter of position sizing, but a matter concerning average range expansion & amount of fake price action happening. Swing trading equity markets is more difficult in comparison to currencies at the moment. Intraday price action of course is a different...
