    2 k futures account - $500 a week possible?

Those returns not realistic, and without experience, pretty much impossible.

How do YOU come up with trading ideas?

I use a product called Bloodhound for Ninja Trader to test ideas and determine if they have positive expectancy. Don't ever take any idea as an edge unless it has been fully tested by yourself. Reference Links: http://www.sharkindicators.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2qBAX0Gmxw No...

Sure here's an example of bullish signals.

Bar/Candlestick Turns - Do you trust them?

In my experience, a bar or candle turn does not guarantee direction. With that in mind why wait for them to initiate ? Do they improve the odds beyond the 50% coin toss? What is your experience ? Interested in discussing the above.

    The Green Alpha

Hi Green Alpha, I've noticed that most of the time you post your calls at aprox 4:05PM EST, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. Are you aware that many major companies report before the time you post your call ? Positively or negatively affecting the index.

Pinkman taking the time to post his trades in a timely fashion and detail his exits merits recognition at the very least in the form of respect. Would hate to see the good deed become an open playfield for criticism, we all traders here, or aspiring to be.

Entry defines risk, sizing, and if things go well ability to scale up exploiting leverage, without a well defined entry you cannot accomplish all those in a responsible manner. Imo is all about the entry but its only my opinion :)

Best way to avoid chop is to increase timeframe as soon as you see it, then reduce size and take the trades based on the new higher candles.

I've grown fond of shorting green and buying red when the context allows it, good tip, although a bit advanced to throw it away so casually, could lead to confusion, mistakes, losses.

Why Is The Not So Obvious Obvious?

The obvious that's not so obvious is.. (I realize that's another thread but this one is more civilized) When a classic signal fails. This alerts you that a good group of traders are trapped, which leads to countless stops at market. Naturally for the above, you must understand what classic...

So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

Using him as an example, not making assumptions. I don't think its good trader's practice to claim profitability or positions after the fact in a trader's board without evidence. A lot of junk in this board would go away if the practice was enforced or applied by those serious about...

So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

No offense but without a broker's blotter I could very well say I made 200k. I think if you are going to talk P/L you should back it up with evidence, if you only want to discuss technicals, then that's another story.
