IMO you are missing a key component to the concept. Without a catalyst to propel the stock once it breaks then the strategy just isn't worth much. I know you are a futures trader, but follow me... Look at this ABK chart I attached. Really weak today. Descending triangle. Easy short entry...

Some big moves out there. Was up quite a bit more until the last hour...should have been better.

What exchange did you route to? I use ARCA and have no issues.

I use Buy Stop Mkt and Sell Stop Mkt. It will be a pop up box that allows you to switch routes and set a limit if you want.

Ahhh...you have the wrong idea. Discipline is not trading less...it's trading smarter. Actually you want to trade MORE (not size, but # of trades). That's the only way you will learn to trade SMART. If you aren't doing at least 10 round trips (20 trades) then you aren't trying hard enough...

That's fine if you did it from home. He gave you good advice. Use a broker like Tuco, Bright, Echo etc...you shouldn't pay more than .005 comm plus fees as a beginner.

Had market timed perfect, but my stock selections didn't react. Could have been a lot better day but I can't complain.

You can't talk about indicators without talking about the risk management that goes with it. I rely on one indicator even though I know it's only right about half the time. How to do this successfully? When I'm right I make about 1.6x then when I'm wrong. Pretty simple really.

I'm sure there are guys doing it, but to quote another trader "it's thin and dirty" which is good for women but bad for stocks.

If you made >50k over the course of the year I would say it's safe to try prop trading. Don't expect a salary though.
