How a trader just made $2.4 million in half an hour

No doubt the trader is connected to Dana Mattioli. The Wall Street "journalist" who made the tweet. :)

    Zero-cost collars

You like the idea of "not having to actively trade in and out of the underlying just to avoid major downturns"? Show me a trader that actively trades in and out to avoid downturns (times the market) - and I will show you a trader that buys high sells low, churns his account, misses out on the...

They were picking $10.00 (2 strikes) OTM on two Call Credit Spreads and $5.00 OTM (1 strike) on one Call Credit Spread. By selling so close to PCLN's stock price during a very volatile time they would maximize the credit. BUT if PCLN had bounced up (even a small bounce) after the big drop...

Need your help on put spreads

Weekly credit spreads will not bring in 1% weekly over a 1 year period. Credit spreads are 8 small steps forward, 1 big step back. $10,000 at 1% weekly comes to $16,610.78 after one year - the inevitable losing trades will take a big chunk out of that. $10,000.00 $10,100.00 $10,201.00...

You must visualize the trades. Each progressive trade complemented the one before it, and keep in mind the Short 565 Put from the original trade. The puzzle comes together with the 5th and final trade. :)

Summary of the 5 PCLN trades from the TastyTrade video a 13:39. Study the flow of the 5 PCLN trades from start to finish. Using TastyTrades credit received quotes and PCLN's stock price you should be able to estimate the individual prices of the legs. My estimates are in post #3. TastyTrades...

How to select the right option expiration period?

Quoted from my post on this thread: Simple Question ==================== IMO ........ OTM options that expire within a week are much better to buy than the longer term OTM options. April 24 is too far out to be buying. PROS You are forced out of a losing trade quicker, no wasted time...

IMO ........ OTM options that expire within a week are much better to buy than the longer term OTM options. April 24 is too far out to be buying. By looking at the price of PCLN and guesstimating the price of the individual legs to come up with the credit they received. I scrolled through the video quickly because those guys ramble on so much, a 2 minute video would have been enough to explain all 5 trades. The summary at 13:39 has...

The summary of all trades is at 13:39. They didn't post individual leg quotes, so I will guess at the quotes and it should fit together. My estimated quotes are in the brackets. Trade 1: PCLN at $678.00 - Sell 565/785 PCLN Strangle @ $2.10 ($1.05 / $1.05). Trade 2: PCLN at $578.00 - Sell...

Thank you. I'm with BMO Investorline and the basic account does not provided the option greeks. But I don't think that is a disadvantage, I can visualize how the position will perform based on how the stock might move in the future. I was working on a spreed sheet that would output a...

AAPL March 27 130.00 calls - delta question

It can't be time decay - it's been only 3 hours trading time, with 4 1/2 days to go. I'm sure the weekends get exclude from the delta calculation. :)

AAPL March 27 130.00 calls - delta question

If the delta on the AAPL March 27 130.00 calls is 0.13 (according to the Nasdaq site) why did the calls only increase buy $0.02 while AAPL is up $1.35? Shouldn't the calls have increased by about $0.15? On Friday the calls closed at $0.25 and are up only $0.02 as of now. :)
