Lets see if anyone shares my opionion with the bond market

I read your post about 5 times, slowly. I sincerely wanted to give a helpful answer, but your post makes no sense. try clarifying terms like "takes bond money". Try again.

    WMT and international

WMT is rushing overseas, I think that's a sign that we should too. Even with their low prices, their domestic revenue has been falling for 5 quarters straight, but they've outperformed because of their rapid growth overseas. At this point, I don't think the words "growth" and "U.S" should be...

People would rather overpay for bonds than underpay for stocks

Well, if he was looking at real estate property, we're talking about -10% a year. His point is valid whether the deflation rate is 1%, 2%, or 4%. The fed is pumping cash into the economy, but that can't last too long. It's going to get ugly.

People would rather overpay for bonds than underpay for stocks

well- if 30 year interest rates drop to 0%, will that be enough to prop up the housing market and get consumers spending again? Will it be enough to prevent people with underwater mortgages to avoid bankruptcy?

People would rather overpay for bonds than underpay for stocks

the OP and the article writer are correct- but being right at the wrong time can be very costly. We may still see 6 months to a year of bonds bubbling up while equities may falter lower...

    bac i was right

when you say 1 stock will go down, and that week every single stock goes down- you really shouldn't start a thread about how smart you are.

    Why is deflation bad?

    1. deflation was a harmful byproduct of the depression which magnified it. Aggregate demand dropped, so prices dropped, companies made less profit and had to lay off people or cut wages, furthering the drop in aggregate demand. 2. A weak japanese yen hurt the japanese. The price of...

    Why is deflation bad?

is there some productive end to this squabbling? Are we going to eliminate the fed?

GM Q2 earnings per share $2.55

It's nice when you can cancel out $172 billion in debt and stop making payments on those- it makes your company look like it may do well, just long enough for your IPO. Then, once all the shares are sold, the shares can continue their downward slide even further.

Missing Part of Tax Cut Debate

We need to vote against beauracracy, and I think the tea party is doing a good job of pointing us in that direction.

    Why is deflation bad?

You have issues. You can't think of 1 specific thing to say that is truthfully evil about Buffett- and definitely can't justify that he is the "root of all evil". Also, making his life's work multiplying the wealth of his fellow investors pulls him out of the lowlife scum bag territory...

    afternoon bounce?

great post. to answer your one question- the Fed said they will be buying treasuries to inject cash into the economy to help fuel the "economic recovery". Someone needs to tell the fed that their interest in the U.S. dollar is a poor investment.

    My longshot is

It looks like the great news you mentioned is already priced in- would have been nice to buy 2 months ago before it went up 100%.

    afternoon bounce?

Anybody think we might see some recovery today? The value's out there and fear of inflation may begin to sink in. If I had to guess, I'd say SP 500 closes at 1100.
