    risk reward opinions?

Hey, Note: I don't claim to be an options guru or anything even close, but I find the iron condor, etc. strategies not for me. Therefore, I like to trade options like stock, basically I look at price action of the underlying security (stock) and make my trade as I would stock (call/put...

Any sources for learning about the 3BR?

Suri Duddella has a section in his book about this method, I believe. Not a lot, but more of a basic overview. -troll

    Books for Price Action?

Yeah I understand, I've actually read a lot on elitetrader and I've learned a lot from people around here. All books really do (if written well) is help compress the information into a single source to go to, rather than scattered all over the place...at least that's what I find. Do you...

Hey just wondering what books would be good for Price Action. My list of books includes these: Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns Trading Classic Chart Patterns Suri's Book - Trade Chart Patterns Like the Pros. I'm looking at getting: Point & Figure Charting: The Essential...

    How To Read Channels

What would you qualify as a break in the channel, i.e. perhaps the creation of a new one? Versus a pull then continuation. Just trying to get a feel for how to not get shaken out. FYI, I don't channel trade, but couldn't hurt to learn to pick up more tools. Thanks. -troll

Cemex NYSE:CX possibly on its way to bankruptcy

It's highly levered to the U.S. construction industry, that's the biggest reason why it's gotten hit so bad in the past year or so. Current rise is attributed to Obama and his play on huge infrastructure developments (which would require cement). That's about all I know, but back when...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?image=chartofmsftsc7.gif The above is using a .10 box, 3 box reversal. Every other chart shows Microsoft in a possible uptrend. What I'm trying to figure out is this: I see the break out, but it didn't drop like I thought it would and at the same time...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

Possible double bottom sell signal for BA, if it reached 40.00 flat. Should be interesting. It almost hit it but formed a double bottom on the candlestick chart and shot backup, any additional weakness though and I could see it retracing to prior resistance levels before another run up...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

New it. Market wasn't reacting very well to the negative job news, felt like there would be a rally, sure enough. http://img148.imageshack.us/my.php?image=msft1ptzm1.jpg .10 point box, 3 box reveral. 3.3% gain. Didn't get in either, already made money today in Intel. Felt like...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

Just felt like posting something I saw today. MSFT - sell signal? perhaps. coincides with 3 different box sizes. .1, .25, and .5. ~ 2 weeks worth of data, intraday. Didn't trade it, why? Felt the market was low and might get a rally back up, making this a false breakout.

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

Hey Dentist or anyone else, I was looking at the P&F charts and I noticed the downward movement today. http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.pnf?c=$INDU,P Would you say that it's a minor pullback, not sure the "O" columns did a 50% retracement. To me, it looks like it didn't have a...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

Thanks Dentist for the CPB chart, I didn't get into the move because I felt there was upside in the indexe(s). I agree with you on your 9400 call, a lot of people are expecting a rally, I was just curious what vertical count are you using to make the projection? (50 * X? * 3) + 8600(?)...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

I was looking and saw some additional weakness in CPB. It looks like if it continues to do go down past 30 it would be a good short, double bottom sell signal. But what I would like to know is, the risk profile for this trade. I feel that if it would break this level it would head further...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

Hey, still new to the P&F charting method, but it makes a lot of sense to me. Spent the last couple of days reading this post and and a few other places as well. What do you think of shorting KO if it breaks $42ish, from a P&F standpoint? Good trade/bad trade? Looks like it would be a...

    PVH analysis, Trend/Candle/P&F

Noticed additional intraday price weakness when it broke 19.50. Looks like it might go through down to low $19's today and are on target for $18 something target price.

    PVH analysis, Trend/Candle/P&F

My background: Still kind of new to tech. trading, I've been doing it off and on for about a year, retail only, and within the past 4-6 months or so I've been hitting the tech. books a lot. I'm just going to post up a couple of charts I've been looking at for PVH. Any comments would be...

    pivot trade directions

    I don't usually use pivot points in my trades unless I feel for some reason that the trade needs to be investigated in more detail (i.e. if it might be going against me). I use this calculation in an Excel file: R2 = P + (H - L) = P + (R1 - S1) R1 = (P x 2) - L P = (H + L + C) / 3 S1 =...

Anything to add to my list?
