    SPX Credit Spread Trader

If the choice is trade like floor traders or lose everything then I think I'll pass on this whole business. Luckily for me that's not the case as there are many ways to be profitable that aren't necessarily what someone on the floor is doing. I suppose it's extremely lucky for me as a friend...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I agree with you that one should trade the strategy that offers them the most profitability with the least amount of risk. I'll express this again, I personally am not advocating anyone to trade strategies in which they don't fully understand the risk (including selling naked premium)...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I understand what you're saying. And again, I'm not advocating selling naked premium. I'm not suited for managing that position. I also agree that no one should trade a position when they don't fully understand the risks. I suppose my only point was that Mav originally said he never sold...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Now, of course I respect Mav but you're saying Mav is one in a million (or I should say two in a million)??? :)

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

In my experience people who say "never" in the financial world are likely to be proven wrong in the future. I'm not advocating selling naked premium but I imagine there's at least a few traders who are successful at it. Just my experience...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I hope he is well. His tone provided almost as much value in entertainment as his posts did in education.

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I understand the point. High kurtosis is a known issue with pricing options using inefficient distributions. Thus the volatility skew exists to increase the value of OTM options within the model and accomodate for the increased probability of a larger (multiple sigma) move. Mav is saying...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

You say OTM options are "drastically underpriced". This is interesting to me. I'm not disagreeing with you but I always thought for the most part options markets were fairly priced and there's no implicit edge without having a volatility or price bias. With this in mind you're saying that...

    My gamble trade

I agree. It's a good strategy to express short bias buying cheap gamma and vega. Winning percentage might be low (depending on the accuracy of the original posters bias) but the strategy is highly profitable if correct.

Lost half of my years salary in a week!

The OP says he's enlisted in the US military. If that's the case then the salary figure is accurate.

Walther is correct. Only the dead chicken I wave over my keyboard has this capability. You can read all about it in my upcoming book "True Quantifiable Technical Analysis - The Holy Grail".

ETers, what do you do with your pennies?

Wow, using Google cache for your sleuthing. You're definitely resourceful riskarb :)

ETers, what do you do with your pennies?

Big difference between Nigerian spam and snatching kids (or talking about it). I enjoy these spats as much as anyone else here on ET. They give me a few chuckles through the monotony of the day. Though, talking about snatching kids is extremely creepy...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

I believe others might disagree with you about my command of the english language. I've been criticized in the past here on ET for my poor grammar but thanks for your kind words. Just to clarify, the only point I feel dissatisfied with during this experience with IB is the response time by...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

I had thought of asking but in the end I decided against it. It certainly would be fair however, I didn't want to open another can of worms for 50 dollars :)

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

To be perfectly honest I didn't think a post on ET would affect IBs actions one way or another. I know there are a few IB people who comb the site but I think they normally answer questions technical in nature or about product offerings. With that in mind my primary reason was that of all...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

The purpose of this thread was not to put "pressure" on IB to fix my problem. There have been many many threads about IB unfairly resolving customer complaints in the past. Although the emotional tone of my posts might have indicated otherwise the primary purpose of this thread was to publicly...
