    Advice for a Beginner Programmer

Interesting, thanks for sharing, will take a closer look. Looks cool at first sight, though. Speaking of programming languages, once you have learned one, you will find other somewhat similar, superficially speaking. You need to know/master more than one. I would go with C++/C# and...

Amibroker - Is it King of retail trading software??

I like Amibroker. It's a fine piece of software that I used for trading stocks in the past, but for my day trading it did not prove as useful, so I am using something else for it, but maybe I should take a closer look at it because I see from this thread that I might have discounted it too...

Introducing FREE MultiCharts .NET Starter Edition

Same here. I found it equally annoying and it was one of the reasons I never returned to MC after my trial. MC may be better than NT, but their marketing department seems to be doing a very poor job that can totally alienate potential customers. NT, on the other hand is basically a marketing...

I joined them too. Looks like they are getting some followers.

    Nexgen fraudsters

I kinda liked MC too, so I did not mean to say anything negative about it, but after the trial I got a bit too many emails from them and they were a bit too aggressive for my taste, so I did not buy it. I cannot recall anything specific, that was over 2 years ago.

The Jack Hershey Public Record Thread

I remember Jack from usenet forums in the 90-ies. He was quite a riot back then, and it does not look like things have changed. His stuff is definitely for those who have plenty of time. Just my two cents.

    Nexgen fraudsters

Many of them are. I was surprised how aggressive a Multicharts salesman was. That put me off. But I can imagine that some (probably many) people cave in under pressure.

Geez. It gets worse and worse.

    Market charlatans

Good points. I too have found a few good blogs out there and I prefer blogs to trading forums. But forums can be somewhat useful too.

A list of all scam unregulated 3rd party educational vendors

Again, so what? Hitler loved animals. Big deal. Harry is running a business there, was doing so for years without acknowledging it while slandering his American competitors from the safety of his German bunker. I don't care how many losers he helped. His help does not justify his sleazy...

Does Al brooks even use stop orders?

I said something along these very same lines, perhaps not so forcefully, in one of my very first posts on this forum. I hope it was not deleted. Back then everyone seemed to be gaga about Mr. Brooks both here and on the BMT. Well, I was not. And still am not. Just like you I have nothing...

A list of all scam unregulated 3rd party educational vendors

Looks like you came here to score brownie points with Big Bozo and his favorite German smear artist, Dirty Harry aka Fat Tails aka Harald Steinhaus. So what that Fat Tails helped you several times? That does not invalidate what the Trading Loonies article says about this sleazy operator. If...

    Does automated trading really work?

Yes, so does manual trading. To some people. About 10% of human population, maybe less.

Thanks! I checked it out last night. These guys are good. They pull no punches. Here is my favorite post: http://tradingloonies.wordpress.com/2013/03/01/trading-loonies-2012-awards/

He used to. I guess he borrowed it from Scientologists because they too like to refer to their fees as donations. His business is a sham. He is now calling that thing "fees." Not a moment too soon.

    Market charlatans

No, it's not. You are supporting a delusional poser. This guy is a loser and if he thinks that running a big forum is going to make him a trader (or even look like one) than he is too stupid to be taken seriously. His forum is a joke. Market wizards? I mean seriously? These kids who can...

Video| Fine Tuning from the Top Scientists

As a guy with a science background, I can tell you that pretty much only two things are certain: death and taxes. And you probably don't need a scientist to tell you that. More seriously though, any speculative cutting edge research is a lot of bunk. It only when it advances to the...

Any good small chat rooms out there?

Those are not so easy to find. They usually don't give a damn about trading forums. This forum is still better than most, but if you want to find some really good stuff you use Google, Bing, and tools like that. I am not into chat rooms, prefer reading blogs or sites, and I did find some good...
