Bank of America halting all foreclosures: WSJ

This is BS lies on the part of the banks. They did not lose any paperwork. There is nothing wrong with the paperwork. This is their 'smart' way to fool people who were waiting/wondering what was happening to all their REO that remained unsold. Well, shit, guess what? It's going to remain...

Can you show a chart of what you're referring to?

Is it possible to change the way Multicharts shows the time stamp of a given bar?

Looks like MC uses the same 'method' as TradeStation. Generally, you can't change that. So, if you're using 30 min bars and the time is 9:35, the bar will indicate 10:00 right? That's the way it's 'supposed' to work.

Record Low 30 Year Mortgage Rates!!! This is getting to be a joke.

The housing market will not recover until they bring back the 20% down, no doc/low doc loans. A lot of people out there would actually buy and take property off the banks' hands if the idiots wouldn't be so stupid now & not make those loans. I'm NOT talking zero down. But why not bring...

I have been trying to reach the NYSE and can't get a hold of them

They've outsourced their call center to India now. Temporary glitch. Should be up & running "soon". If it's real urgent though, you might try calling the High Frequency Trader Association in NY. They can probably answer your questions faster.

    Hidden fees

Minimum monthly trading quotas/fees. Some may not charge anything but I've seen them running as high as $2,000 a month (not including desk/equipm/quotes). That can be another few hundred, again depending on firm. You need to ask if there are any other fees not disclosed upfront.

    EWZ going ballistic

Decline in the dollar? It's been collapsing these last few days, hence the performance of EWZ. ^BVSP is priced in Brazil currency (BRL). EWZ is priced in US dollar. A drop in US dollar, even if ^BVSP is flat, will cause EWZ to go up.

    Prop vs retail Forex

Good luck finding any "positive expectancy" strategies in forex. That's the key, no matter if fores, stock prop, futures or retail. Do you have an "edge"? Then just trade it!

    I wanna trade RUT!

No cash index in the world will match it's etf or futures contract on minute bars. You're talking about liquidity issues in that time frame. It's just not possible. Many issues in the index trade very infrequently thus it's momentum "appears" to exist looking at minute data when in reality...

    I wanna trade RUT!

RUT is a cash index. Not tradeable other than perhaps buy/sell biggest 500 components. Why can't you use IWM? Is it the first 5 minutes difference?

    EWZ going ballistic

One reason not "indicated" on your chart is the US dollar going to shit again. That probably accounts for most of the performance difference.

    Replicate expensive ETF yourselves?

One benefit of ETF's is when you buy a foreign traded ETF listed on other exchanges. Say for example you have an account at IB. If you buy stocks in London, you'll be paying their .005 customary stamp duty. If you buy an ETF on the same stocks there is no stamp duty. The same goes for other...

    Can an ETF collapse?

That article is a "scare tactic" to keep people away from ETF's. Those guys probably got paid by some mutual fund, who knows. Can an ETF close down? Of course, but they'll likely return the fund's NAV to you upon liquidation. Is it better/safer to own the stocks? Probably. ETF's are...

Who else is sick of food prices being manipulated?

    Oil price ($80) x 15 = $1200 (1 oz gold) 15-16 is probably a good historical/long term ratio for these 2 commodities??

Who else is sick of food prices being manipulated?

I don't really agree with your statement here. The fact is $25-$30 is really nothing any more, considering the expense and *risk* in getting oil out. The huge investments required to even enter the field, etc, etc. Look at PBR for example. Face it, there are now many, many more millionaires...

Who else is sick of food prices being manipulated?

Kassz007, While my views on the subject remain the same, I want to apologize for the foul language of my previous post. I get a bit "ruffled" on some subjects.

    Replicate expensive ETF yourselves?

Brazil is one of the easiest country etf's to replicate, at least with respect to EWZ. There is another Brazil etf (BRF) which has about 60 stocks, however most are not US listed. They're smaller cap than the ones on EWZ. Overall though, as long as you have 10-20 stocks in an "index", you can...

Who else is sick of food prices being manipulated?

That's bullshit. When some greedy dipshit buys $1billion of GE or MSFT, there's very few consequences other than perhaps liquidity when exiting the trade. If the same fool decides to buy $1 billion of the rice or wheat ETF, somebody, somewhere will die of hunger. What if it were you or...
