WSJ Pro, is it worth it?

Thanks, yeah it doesn't seem like something I could really use.

WSJ Pro, is it worth it?

No problems either, but still curious if it's worth upgrading.

China on ‘Treadmill to Hell’ Amid Bubble, Chanos Says

I would've used "chinese motorcycle to hell" myself. A friend of mine from there has a Lifan, it starts up good and for the first block it went well. Suffice it to say, after a few blocks, something went and the damn thing was uncontrollable. Later turned out to be a piece came loose. Nowhere as...

WSJ Pro, is it worth it?

Saw the notice today, that the Journal has a pro edition. Is it worth upgrading? It seems to me that (despite their claims to the contrary) that what they're offering one can almost replicate on Google.

Mission Impossible: ET to fix Social Security

What about expanding the social security tax? Isn't 6.2% (and matching equivalent) taken from the first $106,800? For the self-employed, I believe it's 15%. Everything beyond that is not taxed. Why not get rid of that limitation?

    crazy SSF questions

I don't think much anyone trades these things. Do you think if they changed the specs they would trade better? Would they be better off if instead: 1) Changed the underlying share amount from 100 shares to 1000 shares. 2) Make them cash-settled instead of physical delivery of shares, would...

Wall Street 2 trailer is out!

I know how you feel. The only thing I'm disturbed about was a small line in the Youtube info that says Gordon is trying to "redefine" himself. I wonder what they mean by that?

    Commission FX on TOS

Nevermind. Basically this is for their 1000 unit pairs, which is a buck and the spreads are the same. I'll stick to Oanda for my FX trading. Anyone else use TOS, out of curiousity?

    Commission FX on TOS

Anyone else noticed on the TOS platform that they have two sets of Forex pairs now? One is just plain old Forex, and the other is FX commission. Now I think we all get what the later means, but any word on what that is, and does that mean tighter spreads?

Is China's economy headed for a crash?

But when that time comes, won't they just liquidate some bankers, and threaten others that their kidneys will be sold if they don't essentially turn back the clock before the you-know-what hits the fan?

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Well, I'm beginning to believe that Adair Turner may be the closest nominee to the James Taggart Award! This so-called Lord actually has complained in the past about how many folks were hired by the financial industry. That what they do is not a so-called social good. Last I checked, Britain...

We have another potential problem. It turns out that radio/MSNBC host Ed Schultz is now seriously thinking of running for Bryan Dorgan's Senate seat. I've highlighted that talk show host before on this thread. The man is for that god damn transaction tax, and he's a good friend of DeFazio...

What we need is a hedge, not sure how, I'm leaning towards perhaps some more Republicans in Congress. But politicians are politicians. What other hedges can we do for situations like this?
