Thanks guys, but i'm not looking for a pat on the back :D I just wanted to share that this SHO change can be good for some people. After all the whining here I figured it was prudent but positive results just bring out jealousy around here.

ET is full of random fools, yourself probably included. My system has 100% auto entry and has been quite profitable for years. I knew from the moment it was announced that SHO would be good for my system...no doubt. People don't like to hear from winning traders on ET so I give up this battle.

I had a 7% increase in todays P&L due to the new SHO. I expect 5-10% a day minimum from here on out...time will tell.

These guys are right. You don't have an edge, and may not even understand what an edge is. That's ok because you have never seen a profitable strategy in action and until you do you won't really "get it". Most of the traders on ET don't get it either so don't get frustrated. As an example...

You guys are wrong. It all depends on the trader. I'm on track for my best year since 2000 trading NYSE only. Not to mention the upcoming changes in the uptick rule and expansion of NX which I think will only add to my bottom line.

Here's the bottom line. Don't get into this business to make millions. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning...twice. If you want a job that you can do from home, take in $50-150k/yr and enjoy doing it then give it a go. I consider myself a very good trader, but I know...

Considering innefficient markets make me $, I'll be the first to say that I would LOVE this to go into effect It's selfish because this rule will hurt retirment account performance for the masses, but mutual funds are for suckers anyway. Go Donaldson!!

Well I don't count for another 4 months so I guess you are right! C'mon you guys...myself, sdtrader, ericp, lescor etc all make a good living daytrading full time. Is it really that hard to believe?! Maybe it's time for some of you to find a new profession.

I should have added "for marketing purposes". Also regarding Block Trading...I heard that figure also and always had a hard time believing it. It's higher than that on average...or else I know half of the profitable traders in the U.S.

That's absurd...a brokerage would never show statements or release hard figures of their customers profits. Also, hedge funds are too big for this game. Today I made $2800 which was a good day for me...a hedge fund could care less about $3k. There's good money to be made, but it's about slow...

Agreed...back in the "good ol' days" that thread was the most complete collection of daytrading info on the web.

Not that I can vouch for his returns, but I talk to Eric almost daily and he's for real. Top 1% of ET traders no doubt. And, to add to the thread...I'm on my 6th straight winning year. A coule years were "lean", but I was always able to make a living...sometimes much more.

I no longer trade this strategy . Maybe Lescor or Don could give you a few examples from Friday. I would assume there were some good ones considering it was options expiry.

Because it's a profitable trading strategy...? The question these days is whether the capital required is worth the gain. Lescor has proven that you can make good $, but it takes work which most here aren't willing to do.
