I briefly traded vix vol some time back, and it seemed to be attractive. But I don't know if there's enough research yet to determine whether its priced correctly. How are you determining a fair implied vol for the vix options? What's typical IV for the more liquid (monthly?) options?

They're available and quoted on IB now... I tried trading with it yesterday. Symbol is GVXX. But TWS said "could not value this contract at this time", and didn't let me place an order. You should take a look, maybe with a valid "last" price now... you can place orders on IB. Never mind...

Simons often hits 40%+ after fees... considering his fee structure (5/44), that means he's basically doubling on a gross basis. It's just ridiculous, is what it is. If Jim Simons posted on ET, we'd laugh him out of town.
