I am trying to use an old spreadsheet using the esignal DDE and uses the XX=N for filtering out the regionals. I know the spreadsheet used to work, but now I get #No Data for everything. Example: =WINROS|BID!'APC=N' The above code returns the error. Whereas =WINROS|BID!APC seems to work...

Ditto, especially the last couple months. But if everyone knew how to make money there then there wouldn't be any $ left for us.

Lost $16k the first 3 months, broke even on the second attempt a few months later, and finally turned profit after about a year.

I trade 99% listed and use an Esignal. Also I'm testing the trade-ideas.com software right now for block filtering and a couple others...so far i'm impressed.

Scaling is good because once you peel off a bit for a profit you are playing with house money and it's psycologically easier to let the rest run. I scale out of almost every trade.

Sorry if I missed it in the thread, but did you mention what software you would provide, and would there be an API? If so would there be extra costs of executing through the API?

I called tech when I got Comcast service because I couldn't get data (turned out to be my wiring error)l. All he did was ask if I had a router and when I said yes he had me disconnect it. Once service started on one computer he said I just need to hook the router back up, but didn't say...

It's a commodity business now. Take the computer industry for example. For those businesses to thrive in the future they will either have to raise prices, or some firms will have to drop out and let the others take the volume. The prices aren't going to go up...

Not to mention COH and ESI...there was so much to trade today that it felt like the year 2000. How did I only make $400? doh!

Price improvement is alive and well...I tried trading some nasdaq stuff last month for the first time in 2 years and it felt like a jumbled mess of quotes. Fills are fast but the trading just feels "dirty" ;-)

I had an order executed through the desk today during the outage.

VPN is a standalone program, whereas Citrix is run off the NY servers. Citrix feels similar to java.

NYC77 you jinxed us...this is the worst outage that I can recall.
