    Are intraday Candlestick patterns useless?

Depends on the market, but for the most part, I do not think candlesticks are very useful. In an illiquid market I think they are completely useless. I don't use any charts for trading. I'll look at them when I've been away from my desk for a while just to see what happened while I was gone...

I just logged in (which is why I edited the question part out of my previous post). I couldn't get any prices for any other products traded on SGX either.

Vernal Equinox is a holiday in Japan. So, that's why they're not trading in Tokyo or Osaka. That explains why NK isn't trading. I don't know why the rest of SGX is down. I guess it's a holiday there to, but it's not listed on their holiday calendar.

Who's trading foreign markets? Who's winning?

Thanks for bringing that up. The Kospi is great. It's market weighted, and the top 10 stocks in the index account for about 50% of the index.

Who's trading foreign markets? Who's winning?

That was my point. So, why do you say volume is not a problem. There were less than 300 options on NK traded last night, While more than 28,000 traded on ES today.

Who's trading foreign markets? Who's winning?

If you're talking about NKD which trades on Globex, then yes, it's $5 per point, and each tick is 5 points, so $25 per tick. So if you buy at 16,510 and sell at 16,515, you make $25. If you're talking about NK on SGX, or NIY on Globex, then it's 2500 yen per tick. Singapore stops trading at...

Who's trading foreign markets? Who's winning?

That's what we call liquidity. Not volume. Heavy volume is beneficial when you don't like pissing your profits away on the spread.

Who's trading foreign markets? Who's winning?

They trade on both SGX and Globex. Pretty light volume though http://stquote.sgx.com/live/dt/DTOption.asp?NKOE http://www.cme.com/trading/prd/overview_opt_NK3107.html

Ok, I'll agree that (aside from yesterday) vol has been a little lower in the past couple weeks. But, compare it to the Dow. Still much better vol. Maybe not as volatile as the Brazilian real, but by no means stagnant.

Who's trading foreign markets? Who's winning?

6:45 p.m. eastern time (although I think on Mar 26 we go to DST, so I think they'll be an extra hour ahead of us then) edit: I believe you can begin entering orders at 6:30, starts trading at 6:45. (the cash index starts trading at 7)

Equity curves and the effect of compounding

You need to look at geometric average, not arithmetic. See attached Edit: we both forgot to subtract 1 from the compounded 5 yr returns. So they should be 61.05%, 60.94%, 51.63%, and 43.64% respectively

    Double my money (forex)

I like how you asked four 300% (quadruple) and he said 400% is easy. Just out of curiosity mr double, would you consider last month's trading to have been low risk.
