Just out of curiosity....what can R do that excel cannot? Data mining?

How many do you track? Or do you just track broad indexes and then if there is a signal...look deeper down into the individual stocks?

Honestly, I still don't know what to make of my NL lately. SPY is still negative for me. It was firming up so I dabbled in a small long position and bailed out on it last week.

Talk about having conviction in your trades...he's probably down a ton by now

So is USD/CAD....that thing did a blow-off top and crash like 1000pips within a week or so...crazy. I almost jumped in on that a few times but chickened out as the NL was still positive but deteriorating fast.

is XLE and energy firming up for anyone else? my NL for XLE just turned positive....looks strong but i'm not too confident on my NL and system yet to call a bottom

So right now...I have my own NLs (30 and 5 day) for certain instruments, Volatility Index, 2nd Derivatives of 30NL. Do you guys still track the Monthly NL reset?

Ahh that's a good derivative I forgot about...the MA of the NL? or maybe a stoch chart? These are great ideas to explore.

I didn't know you could do so many statistical tests on just the NL...makes me feel like i'm really not up to everyone's level yet.

Yea, I've always wondered about this. If you base your bias on the NL and it's deeply negative or positve, you'll definitely miss out on the rebound because it takes so long for the NL to get back to 0 and confirm on the other side.
