Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

If you use tick charts then you need to calibrate them properly. Each data providor is different so you need to work out what is the number of ticks/bar from your market data providor. Fib numbers are not good enough sometimes because everyone has different data sources/ways ticks are aggregated...

    How do you feel?

Before I was a trader, I was an english teacher in South Korea for a year and before that I was a yoga instructor for many years. I have literally taught thousands of people how to meditate, do yoga poses, dietary advise etc. and you know what? I lived on the poverty line all of those years...

Trading Room Feedback - woodie / Sport

Everyone sees the same thing slightly differently. What is a ZLR/trend pullback(tony trade/gb100) etc. on one timeframe is a divergence type trade on another (ghost/regular or reverse divergence/shamu/vegas trade). The former is bouncing of major support/resistance (MA,fibo,trendline,pivots...

Would you rather make 3 million on your own or half that as . . .

Let's put it this way, in a trading week, if you and/or your system successfully picked every tradable twist and turn on the Euro in real time (i.e. the 20+ pip moves) would you show your methods to anyone? You think Kovner and Cohen would? Why? They know such stuff because they have been there...

Trading Room Feedback - woodie / Sport

Like any cult, the leader is often portrayed to be something he isn't, the followers who remain are interested in the organisational politics more than the trading (infact the longtime traders who remain probably trade very little), the newbs are all treated like dummies and anyone who...

Would you rather make 3 million on your own or half that as . . .

Can't truthfully answer that until I've traded my first $ million+ in profit. I have no idea what my mind will be like at that time (assuming that day arrives). I don't play the lottery - so I will never win it.

Would you rather make 3 million on your own or half that as . . .

illiquid it depends on the circumstances, I guess it depends on the traders personality profile, living circumstances and appetite for risk as well. The more agressive would probably go solo but some personality types would prefer having a steady income of sorts. Lifestyle is not going to...

Here's your system. You can easily automate it. Fire of one trade each month as indicated in the parameters (maximum of two/month in the case the first one is a loss maker). Stop goes to breakeven after ahead by say 50 pips and then trailing stop takes over. You will get the returns your after...

What exactly is a Holy Grail, in terms of characteristics?

risk/return >=1:4 No more than 2 trades a day 65/20/5/15 : win/breakeven/small loss/loss The balls to trade it, stick with it no matter what and constantly be upsizing (thinking of the infinite euro/usd) No distractions by looking at anything else - one instrument is the deal. In fx Be...

More on the Sydney, Australia move

There is a more radical approach to avoiding tax altogether - If you spend more than 6 months of the year outside of Australia (the 183 day test), you are not subject to any Australian income taxes if you show that: "In order to show that a new domicile of choice in a country outside...
