Is it the only slow application at the same time? If it does it might be a java issue. Check another java application that you can run at the same time and see the performance than. It sounds like the application is simply slow and not a connection issue. TM Trader

This looks like the opposite of my day, I got the large shorts in the morning but later got nailed on trying to get the reversals. Eventually I got one reversal at the end of the day to put me in the green :)

The "overall quality of last-sales data" is non-existence when you use volume dependant indicators with these "glitches".

Steve, This is not an individual user problem, many IB users’ experience volume problems. Seeing negative volume changes (and I see them visually also on TWS itself) makes trusting these numbers impossible. I'm having hard time to believe that no one on IB's technical team is aware of...

I do not agree. Many experienced traders can benefit from the end of day moves, not only the "most advanced programmers" or "discretionary trader's with many years of experience". All you need to do is research under which conditions these moves will occur and plan your actions accordingly...

You should trust the honesty of your piers but what they are saying and not by who they are or where they come from.

So now you see why it is necessary to introduce your trading strategy when you start your journal. If you are trading on longer timeframes, weeks or months, it would have been very helpfull if you stated it on your introduction to the journal :)

You can probably get a better deal from IB if you trade really large volume. All you need to do is ask the right people.

I don't have this book, and it's probably good and ture. BUT, the name of the game for professional traders is conistancy. You must have a working system with known profit targets and known drawbacks to be able to extract a "salary" every month. TM Trader
