Today's trend appeared to be down to me and I had 5 short trades. All of them losers. Every entry was what I thought was a pullback and I always overestimate the pullback, yet all stopped out. Go figure. Going back to the drawing board (and not giving up)!

3 trades, 4 (total) contracts, 4 losses. WTF!! Had one chance on my one 2 contract trade but my short got stopped (5 tick stop) at 1066.25 before heading to 63.50. The market seems to be moving faster (as in tick by tick movement) than ever these past few days. I really need to let it...

This is a really crappy answer but I woke up late and glanced at the posts but didn't pay too much attention b/c the market was opening at the time. EDIT: Lesson learned. I tried to get short at 1087 but the market does what it does best and scared me to cancel the order before it was...

What's driving this speed demon down?! I usually only see this moving this fast during fed news or something.

I know, I haven't done it for over a month or two (when I learned my first lesson) but today seemed like it would make a turn back down at anytime. I was wrong and paid for it. I watched the ES for 7 months sim trading before going live and I swear it never moved like it has in the last 3...

Made the stupid mistake of adding to my short from 86.5 at 88.5. Got stopped out at 90.5. I was up before that :( 3 wins/3 losses but my loser addition cost me my winnings. I really need to stop trying to 'call' the top with my shorts.

Who took part in this move from 1081 to 1098 (as a buyer)? I seem to 'watch' big moves like this all time, only once getting a piece of it (a very small piece). Is there an obvious tell that something like this is about to happen? I miss the train everytime and then spend the rest of the day...

Thanks, should've figured it out. Are you seeing this on the sell side or buy? Some comments made here about large selling/buying volume I don't see on my tape and I do go back and look for it, at the time it's mentioned. Could it be that not all buys/sells are showing up on my tape? I'm...

Ended even before commish after 6 (1 lot) trades. Had 3 'good' trades but got out an average of 2.5 points early on each. Had 2 'bad' trades that flat out went against me from the get go and one trade I got in too early and got stopped out. If I could convince myself to let some of...

I did also at 48.75 and got out for 2 as well. At this point, I'm too nervous to do anything but stare at the price/volume/chart until I get out. We could have both stayed in another point or two:mad: edit, or even more.

what's the downside to continue trading the Sept. contract until expiration? It doesn't seem to be as choppy as what I'm used to seeing, which is seems good to me. thanks

That's what I figured but didn't realize how much of an impact it really had when 'they' are not in the market.

Today's action sucks!! It appears like it's in slow motion or similar to night volume movement.

Will this thing ever go down?:( I am now a bull from now on. Almost every time I've been burned was by shorting in this 'never go down' market.

Man, this is like taking candy from a baby!! Only problem is, I'm the baby. See how the price touched 1001 for a brief second at 4, that was my stop. Un-f#$^ing believable. I could have put my stop at 999 and it still would've touched it, I'm sure of it. It was my fault for...

Thanks again and I agree on scaling out but since I'm new at this (sim traded for 7 months and now live for 1 month), I'm only 'swinging' a 1 lot till I'm more comfortable about my trades.:D Its hard to moves my stops that wide when my r/r would be 1/1 for the most part. I see your point on...

Thanks for the response. Funny thing is, I started at 4 ticks and then after researching all my losses, I noticed I was usually 5-6 ticks from optimal entry (on those trades anyway), so I switched to 7 ticks and now I get stopped out there. It gets a little frustrating at times. My other...

I have what's probably a stupid question that I should already know. Can stops be seen by some? I swear that half of my trades are stopped out using between 4-8 ticks and then turn back in what would have been my favor for a nice gain. They usually turn back around at exactly my stop.
