I use IB and I had a high of 10450 in the opening minute but only 10450 at 2:25. I think this can happen pretty regularly. I've been filled at prices that never seem to come through the feed a few times.

I have some automated trading software that uses IB's ActiveX connection. If IB closes out one of your trades (due to lack of margin for example), is there any message sent back to the software through the orderStatus() event or some other event or does the software continue on not knowing...

Glad to hear someone else say it. I only trade the last 2 hours of the mini Dow (because of the time zone I live in) and it's particularly dead lately. Very frustrating when you keep thinking there will be a trend and it just never appears

I have done this and it worked in my case. Just connected the drive via USB and used software I downloaded from www.runtime.org. You can use the software for free to see what is recoverable then you have to pay to recover it.

I lost the ranch in March as well and I keep hearing the same thing from other people. It amazes me that with all the different strategies and products that people trade, there can be so many losers at the same time. Just a lack of volatility, trend?

If you have the stock showing in your main window, you can highlight it (click on it) then select Ticker->Show Market Depth from the main menu. That will bring up a market depth window on whatever is highlighted.
