Nice window!

I am touring europe for several weeks this summer and want to access my trading account via a wireless network. Has anyone done this: if so what network do you suggest, what are the pitfalls (I will be covering alot of ground), are there any limitations that I should know about, etc...

Move somewhere like West Palm Beach FL, Ft Lauderdale, or Miami; you can rent a place walking distance to the beach including overhead, and have a nice a car for the same amount of money that you pay to rent in NY....

You are missing one important point. Most of the big brokers make much more on agency transations (ie charging commissions) than they do via market making. They are and have been against this tax along with the exchanges. Simply put you make more money charging commission than you do making...

Good point. Trading in US stocks might be less mobile however.

Exchanges would be against this, volume is their lifeblood. Most clearing houses would also be against it as they are agency not proprietary based. There will be stiff opposition to this type of tax, but the new admin. is going to hike taxes at some point and this looks like it could be on...

Anyone who does not know what the closing price will be in one day, month, year, decade, is speculating. It is a shame to see one form vilified while the other is honored.
