Short-locating QQQ vs. Buying PSQ - Novice Day Trade Help

Yep. And I realize that I misunderstood you earlier. You are still shorting. I was thinking you were going long on an inverse. My apologies. I did take a look at the inverse ones, and the 3'x short (SQQQ) was the only one that looked as if I could trade it well. It seemed to track...

Short-locating QQQ vs. Buying PSQ - Novice Day Trade Help

Arnie, that is very thoughtful of you to take the time to post all of this for me. Thank you very much. I have done some research myself regarding the leveraged ETF and was familiar with these problems. From what I understand, it also gets recalculated each day as well. I would only be...

Short-locating QQQ vs. Buying PSQ - Novice Day Trade Help

3x is a bit too aggressive for me right now. But I was thinking about the 1x (1:1). Other than it being more aggressive, is there a reason you say the SQQQ? Thanks.

Doubtfully. I already would have been out long before the time I wrote the first question. But I hear ya!

Short-locating QQQ vs. Buying PSQ - Novice Day Trade Help

So instead of "locating", you pop over to an inverse QQQ chart and go long? This is what I was thinking would be more expedient. So there are no issues going LONG on an inverse when you can't get short on the main ETF? Are the fees with the inverse worse or better than locating, do you know??

Short-locating QQQ vs. Buying PSQ - Novice Day Trade Help

Today is the fourth time I have tried to short the QQQ and have not had the shares available to me. I have NOT tried downloading my platform's (TS) extra app because it seems like an extra step that takes time that I don't really have in day trading. So please help me out. Is going over to...

Direct Routing a Stock or ETF

I will be moving over to a different broker shortly, and I will have the ability to directly route my orders. If I want to set up pre-defined hot keys for trade orders, then how should I choose which route will be best most of the time for my specific stock or ETF? Let us say my scenario is...

Does the broker make a difference when executing limit orders?

I really appreciate your sharing this information. I have been reading my eyes red trying to figure out where to run after TDA's recent confirmation problem with my account. I think I may have just found the best of what I need as an active trader....but not so active that I feel 100%...

Video of What Happened at TD Ameritrade

Ha. I'm just new enough to have gotten excited then my account trading commissions went to zero! lol. I could have paid three months of TWS fees with the loss due to this issue that took place in 10 minutes! They say the painful lessons are the quickest learned. I am moving, as well...

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

Ahhh, your words are so soothing. Just talked to TD today. I will try the CEO route. A quick note never hurts. But they were not willing to help in any way today when I called back with well-prepared points presented in a very polite manner.

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

I understand what you are saying. However, the issue was NOT the time it took to fill my order, but the time it took to tell me the order WAS filled, which did not allow me to EXIT at all while I waited. This is big time costly for a day trade, because we sometimes get in the wrong way and...

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

I can write a letter. I will do it this weekend. Just for clarification, it was they who told me that it was the market maker taking an unusually long time getting back the confirmation. In fact, I was thinking it was my computer settings, as it always seems I have to log in and out two or...

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

I do usually. But then there are issues with closing if you have the bracketed orders up on the screen. So, before I noticed the issue, I had already deleted the bracketed orders (one above and one below) to get out sooner.

Video of What Happened at TD Ameritrade

This is a follow up to my earlier thread. This is what has occurred two times to me. The first time, about two weeks ago, was a limit order that executed, but I was not told it executed. It finally printed about 3 - 4 minutes later. I chalked this up to a glitch. It did not "hurt" my P/L...

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

Here is my issue in its entirety. Not my post. But same thing was happening to me on the same day. In fact, this is the second time it has happened to me. But the first time it resolved rather quickly and did not really affect my P/L. Monday was the second time, and now I am changing brokers.

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

Thank you. It is not that I am stressed so much about the loss, as much as a fear now of the same thing happening again. So, yes, I am looking into IBKR and Lightspeed at the moment. But then I will need to learn another platform. But I appreciate your bright spin. It is just a fresh...
