/ES Option Spreads - min increment

I have only seen .05 increments when trading verticals through IB. Sorry for the small pic. Give us a concrete example where you're seeing .25 increments.

    The ACD Method

I never use stop limits to exit...I've been around too long and have seen what can happen. BTW, I just finished going through the entire thread and started reading Fisher's book. I hope to contribute in the future. Thanks Mav (and other contributors, but mostly Mav) for the best thread on ET.

    Trading Chairs

I highly recommend an adjustable desk. I built one where I can sit, stand, or walk on a treadmill. I don't use the treadmill much, but it is very nice to be able to stand while on the computer, especially when my butt gets sore from sitting.

    interactive brokers question

If you must liquidate instead of buying a future and then exercising... deep itm options aren't typically quoted unless there are resting orders. What's the call worth of the same strike and expiration? Add that to the in the money amount of the put and there's your offer (assuming you're long...

IB charges margin on VIX long verticals

Here's basically what happened: I was long a bunch of put verticals. When I put them on, I had plenty of excess margin. Now add some realized losses in futures. That reduced my cash. Then ES fell sharply and my verticals increased in value. BUT, margin also went up for the spreads. Then with no...

IB charges margin on VIX long verticals

This was about a month ago, but I will give you this example which is similar: August 15, 2014 1935/40 put vertical. Bid/offer is .50/1.50 If I try to buy 50 at 1.00, initial margin is $2,875 and maintenance is $2,300. Total cash outlay is 2500 plus commissions which I think would be $142...

IB charges margin on VIX long verticals

IB charges margin for ES verticals as well. I had 8k in cash and the only positions in my account were long ES put verticals. I was close to having auto-liquidation kick in because of a quick move against me, so I contacted IB. Got the span-margin runaround. If ES went to infinity, I'd still...

Are IB's margin requirements routinely higher than CME's?

Today I checked the IB margin to short 1 ES June 1860 put - it was $7110 which is more margin than being long 1 ES future. wtf

    Day Trading Eyestrain Help

I juiced for 94 days in a row about 6 years ago. While I lost too much weight and muscle mass, I felt great and needed much less sleep. Remember to "chew" your juices to get the saliva going. Instead of that, I just chewed gum for 5 minutes before drinking.

    Discretionary trading - 3G or 4G latency?

I can't get cable or DSL where I live, so my main internet connection is thru a Verizon Jetpack/mifi. So it's mobile in one sense but I don't trade when I'm away from home. For discretionary trading, I have no complaints. I monitor the connection with DU Meter, and every once in a while the...

Average ObamaCare price: $328 per month.

Sure, the rates go up for everyone not under medicare. A few hours ago I talked to my chiropractor about his medicare reimbursements. Basically, he said he gets reimbursed so little from medicare that he practically treats his medicare patients for free, especially when x-rays are involved. I'm...

Average ObamaCare price: $328 per month.

Sure they're cheap, but what is the real cost? Factor in subsidies to farmers (my dad gets $ every year), the cost of foreign entanglements for cheap oil, plus the massive sums of dollars to fund the various bureaucracies, etc. etc. Like I said, apples to apples.

Average ObamaCare price: $328 per month.

My insurance co. sent me a letter which said that nothing will be changing, but I have a high-deductible health plan and an HSA. You all can debate back and forth all day, but has the gov't. been involved in anything which brought (apples to apples) costs down?
