    Hardware/CPU needed for X-Trader/X-Trader Pro?

P.4 from TT specs: "TT applications are multithreaded, which means the Windows NT (Win 2000) kernel can load balance TT processes across multiple CPUs improving machine performance. However, this improvement is not linear. Because other non-CPU elements create a threshold, which limits...

    Hardware/CPU needed for X-Trader/X-Trader Pro?

Thanks. Yes I have read it. While it's a good guideline, I wouldn't take it to the bank. E.g., it says the minimum recommended LCD monitor size is 19" (yet the maximum recommended resolution should be 1280x1024) while I'm using 15" just fine. It also says the minimum requirement for running...

    Hardware/CPU needed for X-Trader/X-Trader Pro?

I have a Market Explorer window open which feeds into Excel. I'll reduce the number of products/expirations to only the ones I need and see if that helps. Thanks everyone! Banjo, Yes, X-Trader is multi-threaded.

    Hardware/CPU needed for X-Trader/X-Trader Pro?

I'm running X-Trader 6.x on a computer with an Athlon 1800 XP chip and the cpu maxes out when the T-notes start moving around. The ram usage never goes above 200mb and Xtrader is the only thing running on this machine. During nonfarm on Friday my machine pretty much froze until things settled...

Interactive Data to Acquire Lycos Inc.’s Quote.com

You got that right. QCharts is perfect for me even with its glitches. Though if the price goes up any more, I'll seek a cheaper alternative. ESignal is definitely out. (I tried them once.)

what screen size is best for daytrading?

Duh, I just thought of this...I have some 15" monitors (nearly the same pixel size as 19"), and I can definitely tell the diff. between them and the 17.4". I use the 15" for Xtrader, but I sit pretty close to them. For anyone in a similar situation, here's a pixel size summary: 15" .297...

what screen size is best for daytrading?

A 3x4 inch chart on a 17" monitor would have more pixels than a 19" since the pixel pitch is smaller. I'm pretty sure about that. That said, I'm debating whether to buy three 17" or 19" monitors. I have a couple of 17.4" monitors now and they seem fine size-wise. It seems a lot of traders...

what screen size is best for daytrading?

Gnome, Thanks for wording your post the way you did. I have two 17.4" monitors and was looking to buy three 19 inchers to add to my setup. I didn't realize that I would be seeing the exact same screen since the resolution on both sizes are the same. Therefore, I think I'll buy some 17"...

    Housing Rolling Along 2

It's not Greenspan's fault, it's the way the banking system is set up...Fractional Reserve Banking creates an endless supply of money out of thin air. It all made sense to me after I read "CrashMaker."

Is CBOT changing order fill preference?

The COBT is changing the 2 yr. T-note algorithm. I hope the 5s 10s and 30s stay FIFO since I don't trade much size. ______________________________ CBOT® Pilot Program - New Trading Algorithm in 2 Year Treasury futures The CBOT Board of Directors has approved on a pilot basis a...

    Treasuries futures

My TWS has the same thing...the quote is 1/64 bid at 2 points. It looks fine to me...just no one making an electronic market on it right now. The bid in the pit would be much tighter, but the electronic market is usually much wider than the pit market since the volume is in the pit.
