Competition in this field - programming

Oh I know, its embarrassing. But..., if you're applying to an engineering job (or something modestly analytical) and you put "Excel" as one of your skills....my red flags are immediately up. If you have to tell me you know how to use a spreadsheet, it probably means you dont have much else...

Competition in this field - programming

Programming by itself is no longer a valuable skill by itself. It's like putting Microsoft office products on your resume under software proficiencies.... Your value is your domain knowledge...not tools that help you solve generic problems. You're selling the wrong pen.

How To Divide a 4K Monitor Into Multiple Virtual Monitors

If you use a gnome based linux distribution, you can use an extension called "gTile"....its amazing, and basically does what your're describing above more simply and with more versatility. I switched to a single widescreen curved monitor from multiple monitors a few years ago....never going back.

How can you have a single datafeed when there are multiple venues ? Mandate an aggregator hub and make it illegal to go upstream of the hub?

Best Trading Book You Have Ever Read?

Back when I had an office job...there was a bunch of old dudes who had that on their desk like a Bible. I mean, it's worth a read because it's such a quick read....but I really don't understand why people worship it. I listened to it on audible in like 30 minutes.

IB No Longer Offers FX for U.S Retail Accounts?

You're right.... My TWS charting skills are still under development, and I was having issues with scaling multi-asset charts.

IB No Longer Offers FX for U.S Retail Accounts?

I guess liquidity was the wrong phrase... Action may be the right term? I haven't done much (any) research, but the 6E futures seem to behave much differently than the eur.usd spot....atleast on the short time frames I like to trade. To the point where trading one is not like trading the other.

Leverage. CME . Full orderbook and no dealing desk... But the liquidity isn't quite the same.

IB No Longer Offers FX for U.S Retail Accounts?

Understand that, it's just new news to me because I wanted to start auto trading forex.... guess I probably won't. Is leveraged forex for U.S persons banned in general or just at IB?

IB No Longer Offers FX for U.S Retail Accounts?

Never been a forex trader, but was looking to start dabbling....and I noticed that neither my IBKR IRA or Individual accounts seem to have forex trading permissions. Looking around a bit... I cant find any listing of the forex leverage offered, but did find an old thread here on ET that says...

Loved the movie, but didn't make the trading link. Rounders hits closer to him, in that regard, for me.

Rockets fired at Iraqi military base housing US troops

I will admit, it is an advancement, but not so different than other technological advancements driven by war. I think you hit the nail on the head with the money suck.....I'm a major PROponent of robust defense spending....but fear sells, and scared people vote, and elected officials allocate...

Rockets fired at Iraqi military base housing US troops

The analogy is meant to demonstrate that you don't need to be able to outrun something to intercept. Meaning I don't need a hypersonic weapon to intercept a hypersonic missile. I've seen many articles like that NYT article, and they all don't have a clue what they're talking about. They don't...
