What would you do if you had the "holy grail"?

My feeling is that answer to my question would be no. Best wishes and congrats on this edge, 404.

    Historical Bond Prices

It is a bit perverse: you may try using yields for testing. They are free from yahoo;)

    French vs American women

With this statement you have shown yourself as an arrogant/uninformed fool. Can't speak for iraqi or pakistani women, but india has its share of beautiful women.

    French vs American women

I think the statement above can be discretely applyed to many women across the globe, feel free to include US. On average there is more fat people in US which includes women. It is a sad and very well known fact which is noted by most of the people traveling to US... European women have a bit...

The next great hecatomb: the hedge funds

It will just attract volume to futures markets, which , I guess, is good for traders. Also, these money will try to find better traders, so environment might get more competetive. In the end public should lose, I agree.

    Index volatility is coming down

Amen to that. The question is how low is low. What if NQ settles into some boring range for few years until new money comes into equities?

    Index volatility is coming down

there is no losses, my post mentiones "lower profitability".... i know hope is a "bad" word in trading dictionary, let's see if I can alter original post..

    Index volatility is coming down

If you take daily chart for NQ, and divide price by ATR(14), you will note that the ratio is coming down relative to 2000-2002. Basically, in percentage terms, NQ "moves" less now. This has immediate consequences on some of my systems - profitability goes down since moves (in percentage...

Real estate Speculators - Rental Market

May be "buy rumor/sell news" approach fits here as well. It seems like everyone "knows" the rates are going to get higher as election gets closer. Most of the chasers would buy several month earlier , thus demand may dry up even before rates go up. Just a speculation....

    Backup Dial-up Internet Access

One other option not mentioned here very often - mobile phone as a backup. This way you get mobility as well in case you need it. 1) can use build-in 56K modem (most of newer phones) with your existing dial up provider [the downside you use you plan minutes] 2) can use GPRS interned service...

    Gaps

Yes, I wish, but is hard to come up with good data for backtesting besides NQ/ES/IndividualStocks. See my thread on daily data for bonds: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28362. Same situation with daily data for ESTX50/DAX. Anybody trades gaps in those vehicles...

Hi nonnonsense, your approach is good for going forward. But I need several years of good data for backtesting now:)

    Bond(ZN) valid daily data

Scott, this may not be an esignal issue, so Elite Trader (s) might benefit from the thread. Scotts reply: Part of the issue here may be the anticipated start/close times for ZN vs TY. Per the CBOT site, the electronic contract trades until 4pm CST, 2 hrs longer than the pit contract TY. Here...

    Bond(ZN) valid daily data

    And using pit traded contract for daily chart does not make sense as weel: 1) screen volume is much greater than pit; 2) data is entered by human with delay (i think); 3) sadly, daily/intraday open/close does not line-up for pit contract as well;
