I have a very very basic question: what is a quantitative system? what is it based on - indicators and lots of math, or could be price and volumes well? Can somebody post a basic example? I'm not from US and just trying to understand what exactly "quant trader" or "quant system" means...

I agree with you on commissions. But besides that what you are saying doesn't make much sense: if we bought 1,000 shares of Microsoft at .11 and sold at 0.22 - it's a 100% gain and we'll have $10,000 profit. My system generates 1-3 entry signals every other day. I make money BUT it's boring. I don't have another job so I end up pretty much doing nothing all day. What do you guys do when not trading?
