Yeah, but happiness can't buy money.

    where to trade

I'm only doing about 100 round turns a month, so I probably don't have much leverage. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

    where to trade

OEC has a demo that simulates the live platform well. It makes good use of a feature (that can be turned off, I think) that gives small text box hints for what your options are when you hover the mouse pointer over the DOM.

    Help Please!

V, the markets can and will do anything, regardless of your conviction. Cash out while you still have some capital, start reading and after you have at least some idea of what you've gotten yourself into, maybe give trading a try with a "real" broker. Oh, and be prepared to lose money.

    where to trade

The commission rate is per contract. If you're planning to scalp intraday, I'm not the guy to answer your question. From what I've read on ET, the platform, data feed transport, hardware and broker back office issues are HUGE, and I'm sure there are other considerations. For intraday...

    3:45 margin cut-off . . no longer?

Oh I agree, hence a low balance is maintained in the account. I also don't leverage all the way down to $500 (I use $1,000) which isn't available at IB.

    3:45 margin cut-off . . no longer?

I have an account at IB and just opened a new account at another firm to initiate an ES day trading strategy due to IB's high intraday margin requirements (1/2 the overnight).
