There is a nice double top on the SP daily chart. I think the downtrend is about to resume after this crazy little rally.

I have read most of the pages in this thread, and I still can't figure out exactly what a slalom or an iceberg is. Seems like there are a few definitions. Can anyone explain it in simple english, or do I have to decipher Jack-talk to be part of the club? :)

That depends on you. Are you succesful? All you have to do is see if you are making enough money. 40k is certainly enough for a good trader.

I'm in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Would be very suprised if anyone is here besides me, but that would be very cool. It is the greatest ski resort in the US, IMO.

I just made my first trade in the Forex, walked away with a whole $12 in profit. :) I like this forex. It does take more patience than US futures. It is nice to be able to trade at 4PM west coast time.

You are going to have a hard time finding a bad area in Seattle, crime wise. Anywhere you live will be crowded and full of hippies and gay people.

Since this thread is dying a slow death anyways, I thought I would post a slightly off-topic though here. You guys are nuts to not be range trading! Why? I'll tell you. You are looking for break outs, but if the market isn't breaking out, then it is...ranging! You already know...

Everytime the range broke I picked up a few more points, trading it in the direction of the breakout. I think I'm up like 18 points today. :) Also, in case any one is curious, I used 1 pt. stops outside of my range lines I drew.

I lost just a little bit every time the range broke, usually 1. My good trades picked up 2 each.

I am really starting to like this range-trading stuff. I've picked up 12 points today just range trading one contract! I highlited the areas I've traded today. Won't bother with individual trades, should be pretty obvious. Chart is in next post.

Chart of this mornings setup in case anyone missed it. My hours are 3 back of EST. The red line highlights the bar I bought on. Exited 4 points later.

Ahhhh, my bad. No more. Part of the problem is this system is so easy there isn't much to talk about! We had one fantastic setup this morning and it only got two posts, but I know at least me and one other picked up the 4 pts off it.
