    The biggest advantage of trading

Scalability and customization. Customization here refers to time/schedule, personality (deep thinker, etc), capital size, trading system, etc. I have not found anything in this world comparable to trading in term of scalability. Yes, you may at one point starting to move the market when your...

Trading is like business, not math, physics, engineering or science

It's definitely a business which requires basic math/stats to calculate whether your trading system has +ve expectancy or not regardless of your trading system approach to the market (pure charting, order flow, algo, etc).

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

Furthermore, even if you can predict accurately the next bar > 50%, does the trading system have positive expectancy?

What makes a consistently profitable trader different from others?

Have positive expectancy (regardless of how any trader approach trading the market). Then it's a matter of self control/awareness which acquired once you have enough practiced executing the trading system.

Is it realistic to design a 100% rule based system that will make you money every month?

Yes, it's possible. This thing is like code breaking which is why it is hard. Most people ignore the basic market auction and go straight to the chart. Maybe you can start questioning how market auction represented in chart. From high liquidity to low liquidity. Only then you can design a...

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

Context is important when discussing the randomness of price. For example, trend following in day trading vs swing trading, price movement based on previous collective candles @ price structure, next candle based on previous single candle, etc. Regarding your question of predictability of next...

Why Rithmic's WTI crude oil daily volume less ~25% than CQG's?

I checked on R Trader Pro (Rithmic), the daily volume of WTI crude oil is similar (1 contract difference only) to CQG for past 4 trading days (Oct 30 - Nov 2). Before that (Oct 18 - Oct 27), the daily volume data are different.

Why Rithmic's WTI crude oil daily volume less ~25% than CQG's?

I checked the WTI crude oil's daily volume at CME website. CQG daily volume is closest to CME daily volume, around 95% of CME daily volume.

Why Rithmic's WTI crude oil daily volume less ~25% than CQG's?

The contract month is same. I checked the trading hours setting for WTI crude oil in the Ninjatrade 8, no issue because it uses electronic trading hours, not regular trading hours. I am currently monitoring the volume value in real time between CQG (Tradingview), Rithmic (Ninjatrader 8) and CME...

Why Rithmic's WTI crude oil daily volume less ~25% than CQG's?

I was testing Rithmic with Ninjatrader 8 and noticed Rithmic's WTI crude oil daily volume is less around 25% of CQG's WTI crude oil daily volume. Why there is huge volume difference between these two data feed vendors when the exchange is centralized? Below are the WTI crude oil daily volume for...

How to shift to swing trading?

Maybe you should clarify the methodology/process and why to shift to get better answer. People can only assume your methodology/process is exclusively applicable on intraday and the reason to shift is due to scalability (highly unlikely because you capital must be big to impact the price) or...

Which market and trading platform has an easier learning curve with regards to trading?

The endgame is not supposed to to be only easier learning curve but high probability to achieve your 1st million (or financial freedom or whatever freedom). My opinion is based on my own experience and people around me (including people known to trusted people around me). High probability to...

Who is the Top Trader at Topstep & similar firms?

Do you have personal experience with them? Really curious about one thing in their FAQ below. It really turn me off if I need to share my methodology. "We have an 11am/ET meeting Monday through Thursday, which we will expect your attendance. If you cannot make the meeting, we would need to...

What style of trading would you teach your son?

This is a great reminder. Only people who have traded and built a trading system long enough can understand this. It's similar methodology/belief that I learned from a stock proprietary trader for >20 years that retired few years back. Classic of learn from the master and modify it to suit...

    Being profitable

Trade symbol(s) that fit your setup (of course by screening) than trade a single symbol.

    Are you serious?

From the perspective of profit/loss, it's the same for running both trades in the same account. From the perspective of trade management and journaling/tracking your trades, it can be confusing and waste of time if you're a manual trader.

    Are you serious?

FIFO rule. Assume your 1st buy at 100.00, stop loss at 98.00, take profit at 120.00. The 2nd buy at 104.00, stop loss at 103.00, take profit at 106.00. If the stop loss of the 2nd buy is hit, the buy position that will be closed is the 1st buy position, not the 2nd buy position. Multiple...
