    thinkorswim acquired by ameritrade.

I'm glad to see that i'm not the only one who rolled his eyes and said crap, as if I'm not busy enough and paying enough commissions to TOS to keep them independent! Its kinda funny as I have an account with both, not wanting to burn my bridges with Ameritrade over a new start-up called TOS...

    Portfolio Margin account?

yes you can daytrade w/ PM. Think or Swim has about a 100K min account value to get this margin. Its commonly referred to "risk margin" and that is basically how the broker will understand your trades in order to determine the level of margin to grand your various position types.

More Risky: Small Business Owner or Trader

The goal of the traditional business man is to avoid and survive while experiencing un-priced changes in the marketplace (for example, the value of a fully depreciated asset, or piece of manufacturing equipment which is 50 years old, but one which still has a priced and marketable productivity)...

    Firearm Wanted

Lol, sure the P90 is an amazing device, however I'm not sure how I would explain it to a traffic cop should I forget a turn signal... :)

    Firearm Wanted

Thought I should throw my own 2 pennies into the pool.... I currently am a CCW holder in Michigan and I carry a FN Five-Seven pistol. Its a very advanced weapon with the following characteristics which appeal to me (probably in order of importance): - Highly accurate - Uses a 20 round...

    tradestation v. tos

I'm currently running OptionVue 5, and hear that they are getting ready to create an OptionVue 6. Anyone have information regarding this? Is anyone using an OptionVue equivalent? I would like to know what else is available, as I mentioned earlier, I'm a big disappointed with OptionVue...

    Credit Spreads

I would look at a 30 day iron butterfly, could run the spread each expiration set, and as it moves around you may have an opportunity to split the strikes in order to experience a nice profit if you are brave enough to drive it all the way to expiration. Best luck!

    The Importance of Understanding Synthetics?

I'm on Amazon.com and not finding any search results which directly address synthetics. Any new book suggestions. I suppose synthetics is not the ultimate destination I'm after as all synthetics can be arrived at mathematically, but I would like to know more about popular and frequently...

    tradestation v. tos

I'm part of Dan Sheridan's mentoring program and they just had Tom Snosnof (sp?) on fro TOS and apparently they are working on a number of upgrades to both the scan and analyze functions. I agree, both the scans and analyze functions could be upgraded. I think the two major things they are...

    tradestation v. tos

OK, lets be positive! I'm currently using TOS as my full time broker. I'm working with an optionvue 6-month demo right now and have a few thoughts about the software. 1) The user interface is not intuitive or very clear. I learned the TOS trading software in an afternoon as it is...

Someone bought 5000 LEH 10 puts for 1.45.

Oh I agree, it could have even been a big short write in which case both parties could win. Anyhow, the conversation is really mute, other than that we are able to know that the biggest games in town are not sitting this one out on the sidelines, but we should know better than than anyhow.

    what's up with ALD 2011 2.5 PUT

I did sell a few on the GM just to pump up one of my paper trade accounts on TOS, but I don't know about putting money on these guys.... nothings free is the market.

Someone bought 5000 LEH 10 puts for 1.45.

I think, from the beginning of this conversation, that the more interesting bit of this situation is that someone SOLD 5000 Lehman puts...

    Long Term Calendar Spreads?

Does anyone on here have experience managing long term condors, such as 9-12 months out, probably using leaps? The profit profile near the strike can be similar to that of a call write with put protection, however the condor requires substantially less capital. Probably not a terribly...
