    IB reduced ES margins

$1,750 per contract is current 40 to 1 leverage. Why do you need anywhere near 40 to 1 leverage? Most people should be trading 1 ES contract for every $15,000 to $20,000 in equity so the inevitable draw downs does not drive one insane. Using 40 to 1 leverage is insane, unless you like blowing up.:D

Haha, unless you top picked this mornings little blip up, then there has been no trade-able moves since. I did not get the short. Like I said yesterday, the ES "grinds for hours, and then pop or drop a few points, then grinds some more. The hard part is figuring out the pops and drops. Much...

This crap is very tough to trade. It grinds for hours, and then pop or drop a few points, then grinds some more. The hard part is figuring out the pops and drops. Much easier said than done.

I bet everyone feels they should just go all in on the long side and just forget about it, but usually when everyone feels like that, a turn is near.:)

Only the robots can make money in this chop.:)

    ES Journal - 2012

I agree, you would think the robots would want to slam it up and down more often than they do. Short trades are treacherous since you never know when you get run over by a robot.:)

Robots don't care, they just buy the dip.:)

    ES Journal - 2012

Technically, those targets makes sense, but you must convince the robots to not buy the dip first, and good luck with that.:)

Every time I try to trade for 1 to 3 points, especially in the afternoons, I either breakeven or accumulate small losses.

    ES Journal - 2012

No, I am talking the afternoon have a tendency to chop in tight ranges with no real overall movement from point A to B.

The ES generally only gets one decent size move per RTH session from 9:30 - 11:30 AM ET. The rest of session is generally robots chopping the ES in a very narrow range. I don't know someone can consistently be profitable in 2 to 3 point ranges. If you can be profitable in such narrow ranges...

I agree with your analysis. Could make a case for either scenario that you mentioned. I currently have a neutral view of the ES. I do think that the ES must take out 1350 before we can entertain a correction of longer than 1 or 2 day. I actually do not remember the last correction of more few...

The RTH 60 minute chart does look it wants to roll over, but every time the 60 minute chart gets the roll over look to it, they drop it a tad more, and then buy the freaking dip and blast to new highs.:)

I would love to short the ES here for 30+ point swing trade; however, I do not have any confidence that will happen in the near future. I view going long here for a multiday swing trade as dangerous after a multiweek 120+ point rally. So, I sit and wait for a better opportunity.
